I hear a great deal about the Bill of Rights. Most western democracies have a Bill of Rights. What we are missing is a Bill of Responsibilities, for with every right, there needs to be a corresponding responsibility. I am thinking of the First Amendment for example. To be free to say what ever you like carries the responsibility to be honest, respectful and civil.
I am sure there is provision for this somewhere, and Solar will enlighten me as he always does. In Canada, the right to free speech has the corresponding responsibility to not engage in child pornography or hate speech.

WRONG!!! No other country has a true Bill of Rights, especially Canada, nor do you have a Right to Free Speech. Or have you not been paying attention to your own news?

It is clear you do not understand how far reaching the First Amendment is. The entire Bill of Rights is to limit the government, not it citizens. Do individual have a responsibility to refrain? Yes, but is not required in the document. I realize this is not an easy concept for some to comprehend.

I agree with this is theory. How would you implement it?

Using your example: one could argue that there is no such thing as hate speech, and what is pornographic to one person is art to another (as a whole).

If the responsibility is to respect boundaries (not yelling in someone's face, an overall appropriate time/ place, and way), they you might have something_
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

I was just joking.  Seems like there's no justice anymore, people think they can get away with anything without any consequences.  Political/financial/college fraud, looting, rioting, etc.

The left media says whatever they want...mostly lies....everyday....multiple times...on every outlet.

Why has no one called for their being RESPONSIBLE?    maybe because they don't really want responsibility on the left.   But they sure want the right to be 'responsible'  ....mostly for telling the truth about what the left is doing.  Can't have THAT.

I pay your damn thieving taxes.   I watch the double standard in law.   I work to support my family..and my family members have fought and some died to protect this nation.  We women have the boy babies that grow up and die for this nation.

THAT is about the extent of my responsibilities as far as i'm concerned.      I want the freakin' gov't to get out of our/my life, our/my business.
