Last year, Russia had an unprecedented effect on ADVERTISING for the election.  Pumping out articles filled with fake news, saturating Forums and Blogs with garbage, and of course, posting all kinds of crap on Youtube.  If you visit some of the news digest sites, you'll see what I mean, with those big green RT Russia Today, Russia Times initials in the upper left corner.
Do yourself a favor, don't read it, just close the window and move on.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RT_(TV_network)
QuoteRT is a brand of "TV-Novosti", an "autonomous non-profit organization", founded by the Russian news agency, RIA Novosti, on 6 April 2005. During the economic crisis in December 2008, the Russian Government, headed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, included ANO "TV-Novosti" on its list of core organizations of strategic importance of Russia.
RT has been frequently described as a propaganda outlet for the Russian government and its foreign policy.  RT has also been accused of spreading disinformation by news reporters, including some former RT reporters, The United Kingdom media regulator, Ofcom, has repeatedly found RT to have breached rules on impartiality, and of broadcasting "materially misleading" content. RT America is required to register as a foreign agent in the United States.

Don't skip over the above, READ it and let it sink in.  Russia Today is not here to give "their side" of the news, it is described as a PROPAGANDA outlet for Russia/Putin.

QuoteIn early 2010, RT unveiled a highly controversial advertising campaign called "Question More", which was created for the channel by Britain-based McCann Erickson. One of the advertisements featured as part of the campaign showed President of the United States Barack Obama "morphing" into Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and asked: "Who poses the greatest nuclear threat?" The ad was banned in American airports. Another showed a Western soldier "merging" into a Taliban fighter and asks: "Is terror only inflicted by terrorists?" One of RT's 2010 billboard advertisements won the British Awards for National Newspaper Advertising "Ad of the Month".
Remember hearing a leftist nutjob calling American Military "terrorists" during an interview on those Marxist cable channels?

QuoteOn 23 October 2012, RT, along with Al Jazeera and C-SPAN, broadcast the Free and Equal Elections Foundation third-party debate among four third-party candidates for President of the United States. On 5 November, RT broadcast the two candidates that were voted winners of that debate, Libertarian Party candidate Governor Gary Johnson and the Green Party of the United States candidate Jill Stein from RT's Washington, D.C. studio.
Why would Russia prefer Gary Johnson or Jill Stein, over Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton - so much so, as to carry the "debate" with Al Jazeera?   Is it not preferable for your enemy to have a *WEAK*  POTUS?

QuotePascal Bonnamour, the head of the European department of Reporters Without Borders, called the newly announced network "another step of the state to control information."
Cliff Kincaid, the director of Accuracy in Media's Center for Investigative Journalism, called RT "the well-known disinformation outlet for Russian propaganda".
For much of 2015, graduate students at Columbia School of Journalism took part in the RT Watch project, monitoring RT's (US) output. Casey Michel, who worked on the project, wrote "RT ignores the inherent traits of journalism—checking sources, relaying facts, attempting honest reportage" and "you'll find 'experts' lacking in expertise, conspiracy theories without backing, and, from time to time, outright fabrication for the sake of pushing a pro-Kremlin line". The results were compiled in a Tumblr blog.

IMO, this ought to be obvious, nobody ought to have any question as to the goal of RT.   But, it's those *other* subtle outlets which really need some attention.  Namely, WHAT are they trying to do???  Why is there so much disinformation in the news media, and why are they covering non-news events, like there's nothing else worth reporting?

And as time goes on, we learn, none of these protests are really "organic" - but actually organized by PAID protesters!

*  How did the Pipeline protesters survive so long in sub-zero weather?   Who was paying them?   Why would they protest one pipeline in the USA, when there are hundreds of them criss-crossing the country?   We knew it was a wasted effort, but, was the real goal to sew discord and distrust in the hearts of the public?

*  Black Lives Matter, we now know several of the organizers were paid protesters.   It looks more and more like the real effort was to sew distrust and skepticism of the Police force.   Remember Obama referring to a Cop in less than glowing terms, Mayor of NYC pissing off the cops so much they turned their backs on him?  Suddenly, every Cop is a suspect of abuse, instead of someone we can automatically TRUST.

*  Demands for $15 minimum wage, by people who have no understanding of economics.

Sewing greed and covetousness among the people, so-and-so is filthy RICH, they stole it, earned it off the sweat labor of the poor.  Once this was frowned upon, but Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have brought it front and center into politics - even the GOP is afraid to give tax cuts to the only people actually paying taxes.   If JFK were alive today in the DEM party, would he say, "Ask not what you can do for your country, but how much will it steal from the wealthy and give to you!"   This attitude is plainly immoral, to justify government thievery.

*  The recent election called into question (again) the Electoral College.  Hillary is said to have won the popular vote, but our Representative Government was set up so the smaller territories would have some say in the way government was conducted.   It works just like it's suppose to - which is not our fault Hillary and Tom Perez don't understand the Constitution.   But, again, Democrats sew distrust of the law of the land, and call for wholesale change - suggesting we aren't being represented.   The message, 'Do not trust the election process!' is repeated over and over from the Democratic party.   And, the majority rules - unless it's a special interest group.

*  Out of nowhere, allegations of sexual misconduct hit Hollywood... and spread out from there.   The day-to-day communication between people is suddenly suspect of ill motives.   Which is just an outgrowth of the snow-flake phenomenon, I-am-offended-find-me-a-safe-place.  Two things here, stifle communications in business and waste their time with sensitivity training, and create an atmosphere of distrust of successful authority figures.   Create an illusion, every successful businessman has a closet full of skeletons - there are no honest people - the government really needs to manage every business.

This has been going on for awhile, with real purpose behind it - changing the landscape of the American Judicial system.

QuoteA key player in the emerging battles over state court selections is George Soros, the Hungarian-born hedge fund billionaire and bankroller of liberal political groups such as MoveOn.org and America Coming Together. Using his grantmaking foundation, the Open Society Institute (OSI), Soros has contributed more than $45 million over the past decade to several dozen special interest advocacy groups affiliated with an umbrella 501(c)(3) organization called Justice at Stake (JAS). JAS, which styles itself a "non-partisan, watchdog group," has as its mission the "reform" of the process for selecting state judges. It is an opponent of state judicial elections.
Change the process, picking them off here and there, stacking the courts with *your* kind of Judges.

Are you picking up on these attitude changes over the last 10 years?   Rather than just say people are going crazy, or the MSM is driving people crazy, there is an answer to bring the America back to sanity.   Realizing our nation's enemies are out to destroy us from within, they also realized what really unites us as a nation, and brings moral clarity to us.   Not to discount faith in God a bit - we are our own worst enemy by not knowing and pressing our freedom as outlined in the Constitution of the United States.  The alternative is we, as a nation will drift further and further from our foundation, until we just collapse from within, at war with each other over imaginary rights.

Several variations of the saying, "Hope, Work & Pray for the best, but Prepare for the Worst".  The theme of this Survival forum's threads.

Education is the simplest solution for America's current manufactured slew of fake crisis's.  I'll buy the books, tapes, whatever, and pass them on to friends and 'others' - hoping to educate them on the Constitution, maybe they'll have an intelligent conversation with others, causing both of them to read and understand the foundation of the USA.

Will we ever, or have we already reached a point from which there is no return?   Doubt I'll live to experience it...  I'm pretty optimistic about America's future, surely the election of Donald Trump / defeat of Hillary Clinton is a bright spot.   The uprising of support against the MSM's attempt to prosecute & convict another politician with accusations from 37yrs ago is another good indicator (guilty or not), people are speaking out against unconstitutional abuse (not much mention of a fair trial, just guilty based on hearsay?).  The advent of the TEA Party, totally grass-roots, a movement of individuals to reduce the size & scope of government, taxes, etc.  The point is, some people have "Had Enough" and want the restoration of our foundational & constitutional rights.  The call for a Constitutional Convention.  These are undeniable POSITIVE indications, people are getting wiser and doing something about it.   So are you one of them?

Just a side note, Establishment Politicians *fear* the TEA Party because there is no single "leader" (they can attack), it threatens their comfortable hold on Authoritarian Power and it could eventually lead to the dismantling of the entrenched sleazy system they've spent decades personally profiting from.   Sort of like the guy who's only had ONE job, "Hey, what am I gonna do for a living, if you call me home from Washington DC?"  The best they can muster is name calling, and an occasional "disruptor", either at a rally or in a Primary.

Where there is public fear and discontent - don't look to the power brokers in Washington DC for answers.  Their answer is always the same, restriction of individual rights, pass more laws (make a speech), and they hope that Can will be firmly kicked down the road.  Government elected by the People makes them employees of the People, we do not work for them, they work for us.   That idea doesn't sit well with a career, entrenched politician.  Our problem, if one even exists in our little neighborhood, continues... until we just decide to fix it ourselves.   When a tornado sweeps through the neighborhood, the most a politician can do, is send you someone else's hard earned dollars - but, that's what your insurance company does, and a much better job at it.  When we realize our freedom outweighs every politician's promise, we're back in the driver's seat, making our own decisions.  The net result is satisfaction, peace and freedom, curiously, it's all that rugged individualism & quest for freedom that got America started.

When did it become a horrible thing to make mistakes?  When you're more afraid of your public image or some stupid regulation that automatically puts you in the 'wrong' - which you have yet to discover.  We're all "wired" to "take risks" - getting married is a tremendous personal risk, you're going to invest A LOT of yourself in another person, they'll know everything about you, good and bad.  Fear of failure didn't stop too many youngsters from getting hitched, and despite the advice of their single friends, plenty of us actually did pretty good!  Some, well, not so good, but divorce doesn't end one's life.   I'm not advocating a "backout plan" for marriage, but a "team plan", each using their own strengths to build a future neither one could create on their own... and have a ton of fun in the process!  If you wind up with a bunch of kids, they too can learn & live out your "team plan" for success.

However... there are storm clouds gathering, and *maybe* all the sunshine we spread isn't quite enough...

Several weeks ago, while fishing OBX (Outer Banks, NC), all cell services ceased.  It was a clear day, no storms - just "No Service".  The one MAIN thing most, and I mean MOST of us individuals, and businesses relied upon, stopped.  Businesses stopped conducting credit card business.  Gas pumps shut down.  ATM machines quit.  All the lights were ON, everywhere, it was Internet Services were down.  I was LUCKY... over 1/2 a tank of gas, and an "emergency stash of cash" in my wallet.  Bait, food, drink no problem for CASH.  I was LUCKY, that time.   Since then, I've "stocked" each vehicle, Wifey's purse, my wallet, and put a fresh stocked 1st Aid kit in each vehicle.  Overkill?  Not when you get a nasty cut that needs more than a bandaid, and you're over an hour drive to get off the beach to some store which would be CLOSED at 9pm, anyways.  This isn't "survivalism" - it's common sense, having an alternate plan for common problems.

It makes sense to take a look at the weather, and simply plan ahead.   Knowing the Constitution isn't going to keep you warm on the side of the road if you get stuck in a snowdrift overnight, the vehicle's gas will only last so long.  Wifey's truck's tires are getting a little low on tread.  This is November, they *might* last until February, but... fresh, deep tread sure beats a flat tire in the middle of winter, or slipping & sliding.   We'll load up a couple of plastic lined bags of dry sand & gravel for a little extra weight in the back.  Besides, she'll have a smoother ride with a little weight, when the truck is empty.

Picked up a new bar and chain for the chain saw, got it put on, filled it with chain oil, and have a gallon of mixed gas, with Stabil - not the ethanol stuff, just gas.  It's lasted for months and months, time to change it, so I'll dump it in the truck when it's almost full (dilute it), and refill the can again.  It's like date marking the cans of food in the pantry, just keep rotating the old stuff by consuming it, before it goes bad.  While your at it, be patient and wait for the "cheaper deals" whenever possible.

That's what FREEDOM looks like, making your own plan and not waiting for some Government official to remind you, "Cook your meat thoroughly, blah, blah, blah".  I want to just -LIVE- without someone looking over my shoulder, or volunteering every bit of information about myself to a politician, and letting them guide me.   Government is not my *god* they're suppose to be working for *me*.   The more decisions I make myself, the freer I am.   This isn't some kind of Rebel talk, but just the American spirit.

Hmm... just noticed that ceiling fan has started swinging and making a sort of rhythmic sound, like a dog scratching a really hard-to-reach spot.   The cat wants out, dog is looking like he's hungry for a evening treat - I suppose there's a government web site with answers for all of those decisions. - I'll pass though, and that's MY decision.   But, if you're busy watching TV or getting your "Netfix" and just thought, "hey, I ought to do some of that stuff, prepare.." - remember, the Government folks want citizens who are beholden to *them*, and not so much those who are self-reliant.   Time to turn the TV & quit your addiction to "Netfix".  It can't be all that good, if it takes you away from doing what you know needs to get done, can it?
