I put it here because funny, but none of us are afforded the luxury to know when it's our time.

Actor Eric Schmitt-Matzen says he told the boy, 'You're my Number One elf'
A Father Christmas actor has told of how he thought he might never be able to play the role again when a terminally-ill young boy died in his arms, just moments after asking, "Santa, can you help me?"

Eric Schmitt-Matzen, 60, of Tennessee, got a call from a nurse at his local hospital who told him he had to go "right now" to visit a boy who wanted to meet Santa - without even enough time to change into his full outfit after coming home from work.

The five-year-old was so weak he struggled to unwrap the present his mother had asked Mr Schmitt-Matzen to deliver, WHAS11 reported.

Mr Schmitt-Matzen sat down on his bed and said: "What’s this I hear about you’re gonna miss Christmas? There’s no way you can miss Christmas! Why, you’re my Number One elf!"

He told WHAS11: "'They say I’m gonna die,' he told me. 'How can I tell when I get to where I’m going?' I said, 'Can you do me a big favor? When you get there, you tell 'em you’re Santa’s Number One elf, and I know they’ll let you in.'"

The mechanical engineer added: "He kinda sat up and gave me a big hug and asked one more question: 'Santa, can you help me?'

"I wrapped my arms around him. Before I could say anything, he died right there. I let him stay, just kept hugging and holding on to him.

"Everyone outside the room realized what happened. His mother ran in. She was screaming, 'No, no, not yet!' I handed her son back and left as fast as I could."

Report of terminally ill boy who died in Santa's arms called into question

A Tennessee newspaper that reported a boy died on Santa's lap -- complete with a heart-wrenching account of his final words -- said Wednesday it could no longer vouch for the veracity of the depressingly Dickensian Christmas story.

The News Sentinel published a story Sunday about a Campbell County Santa Claus actor, Eric Schmitt-Matzen, who said a terminally ill child had died in his arms. The story quickly went viral, with dozens of local and national news outlets interviewing Schmitt-Matzen about his emotional encounter with the unnamed 5-year-old boy.

But the paper said it cannot verify the account by Schmitt-Matzen, a 60-year-old mechanical engineer from Jacksboro, Tenn., who spends time volunteering as Santa Claus at a local hospital.

Still, Knoxville TV station WBIR reported that it did independently confirm many critical details of the story -- but would not go into further detail, citing privacy concerns.

The News Sentinel cannot establish that Schmitt-Matzen’s account is inaccurate, but more importantly, ongoing reporting cannot establish that it is accurate."

So in essence, it did happen, but to protect the family of the boy, no names are being disclosed.
Not the kind of thing one wants to manufacture and still keep any credibility. Besides, if it were actually fabricated, they'd have written a better ending.

Who knows, but he didn't gain anything from it.

Yeah, I saw that too. "critical details of the story", what is critical to the story?
A dying boy, a hospital and a Santa, sounds like it's most likely credible, and if it turns out that this Santa refused to divulge the name of the boy and his family to protect their privacy, knowing full well it could make him look like a fraud and a liar, he'll turnout to be an even bigger hero in the end, despite the media's attempt to discredit a goodwill story about a Christmas theme during the biggest Christian Holiday of the year.

On the one hand, leave to the sour-pusses, who couldn't find a humble, loving bone in they're body if it meant saving their miserable lives - to put out DOUBT like this.  Give me a break & crawl back in your misery and darken holes - we're sick of you trying to destroy anything heartwarming, because "Misery LOVES company."

On the other hand, true or not, it's a gut wrenching tale - which one of us would want to BE THERE and become a part of it...?  I absolutely love my wife and kids, they're worth more than all the money and fame this world might have offered, truely, they are gifts from God.  If it's true, I couldn't have dealt with it, if not... it shows something that's lacking this year in the news, compassion & joy.

My sentiments exactly.
You have to remember, the left is in mental breakdown mode and looking to create pain anywhere they can.
This year, 2016 will go down as the worst year in leftist American's lives since they took over the dim party.

Lets hope 2017 will make 2016 look like a cake walk for them.  DC will have a new river in town from all the crying.
