I was just wondering if those of you in fixed locations purposly use plants to help protect your homes or properties?

Living in the forest, I actually clear plants from around the house for fire reasons.
Instead I had an 8' iron fence surrounding the property with an 20' electric gate installed last month..

The upside to living where we do, is there is only one way to get to the house and that is cut off.

Where I live there is a ton of old stone walls, colonial era. I've been throwing briars against them for years and they've recently started growing up against the wall. Good for juvenile delinquents, but nothing at all for anyone wearing decent pants.

I am up 500' and can see 3 to 5 miles all around.
