So.... the Pentagon just figured this out...?

And people actually believe those concrete walls along the expressways are for "noise reduction"...?
As one Civil Defense guy told me back in the 1990's, "they are People Walls" - and then, showed me on a street map how a 100 block area could be contained by closing 2 interstate routes, and a handful of streets.  We moved to the country.

I watched a South Sacto. neighborhood slide into the cesspit of Hell over a 2 decade decline, luckily it was contained by RR tracks and a major freeway.
One of those neighborhoods where all the homes are boarded up as if waiting to be sold, but fact was, it was done for self defense.
Well Sacto decides they need to expand light rail to the area in hopes of revitalization. I wrote just how boneheaded an idea it was, that it gave these animals a conveyor belt to the heart of the city just 7 straight miles away.

Sure, I was called racist, bigot and anything else you can think of, but the moment they finished the project, crime skyrocketed in the areas light rail accessed, all up and down the line to the Capitol.
Before the project, these people only had bicycles to get around on, very few had cars, or if they did, didn't dare venture beyond the ghetto because most were stolen or out of date registration.

This is a perfect example of bleeding hearts refusing to read history or learn from mistakes other cities have made.

Maybe European countries who foolishly allowed their countries to be invaded could use this method.

One city official mentioned, "We have HIGH property taxes to keep the riff-raff OUT of West Allis, WI".

It worked for awhile, until the property owners started losing the good paying manufacturing jobs, and moved out to a cheaper suburb.
We moved out when our elderly neighbors were robbed, and beaten the 2nd time in a month.  The 2nd time, they were discovered bloodied and tied up in bed, left for dead - we didn't hear anything above all the street noise.  Mexican gangs had moved in, and wanted everyone to know they were there.

As far as those property taxes, based on assessed value - that $180k duplex is probably worth $30k today, if it hasn't been burnt out.

Like alot of people, we moved to the city looking to make our fortune, and someday planned to move back to a farm or farmette, and enjoy the peaceful country life again.  The high cost of living & high rent ate up any attempts of saving - buying a house was out-of-the-question, based on the declining property values in Milwaukee County.

Clark Howard might say it's foolish to commute an hour to work, all that money could have been "invested" in a house, etc., etc.
We "use up" vehicles now, living in the country...  but, it's peaceful, quiet, and the sounds of ducks, chickens, turkeys, quail, pigs & cows is quite soothing, compared to gunshots cars backfiring, blood curdling screams children playing, loud Rap music cars passing by.

And besides, I can BBQ & EAT the animals making noise if they get out-of-hand, and not get arrested.

I found it interesting the pentagon said they would evacuate the "good people" before they started cleaning out the city... house to house fighting... probably leveling half of it in the process.

Before that, we were all Americans and people lived where they wanted to, and cities weren't necessarily cesspits of depravity, that took the Dim party to start creating a culture of permanent ghetto mentality through welfare.

That's how it used to work. Then LBJ created the 235 Housing program, where all new developments were required to build in 25% low income housing, literally every third home built had to be low income, which brought about the duplex on the corner.
The builder would build 6 nice middle class homes and a duplex on the corner, this sufficed to satisfy the law, but it also destroyed entire sections of suburban areas.

I remember it well, and literally half of Sacramento county has never recovered.

Where do they send all the "Good Citizens" before the Army levels the city?

I don't know if there's a better way to do it - this sounds like a Liberal or Democratic method of cleansing, impoverish EVERYONE and then kill the bad guys.  When you're done, "Here's your house, buddy, that pile of smoldering rubble... next to those dead rats the vultures are feasting on.

Watching the video, two things stood out. One being the reference to Sun Tzu, a brilliant and ageless tactician, and two, the failure of Pentagon architects in warfare noesis, thinking it is their responsibility to control American cities, an unconstitutional move, but one they believe to be their responsibility when illegally called upon.

Point being, if this was actually done by the pentagon, it exposes a detachment from reality, in that the problem is not the people in the city, but failed Marxist policy.
Yes, they address the symptom and ignore the disease...All as directed.

As I pointed out in my earlier post, Marxists create these failed areas then not only grow the problem, but contain it in what amounts to govt housing, stacked dwellings and welfare.
Showing how one facet of the party wants Planned parenthood as a solution, the other tries to fix a cultural failure by offering them jobs, as in the case of South sac. they connected cheap transportation as in light rail.

Yes, some actually thought these people wanted to work, after generations of welfare mentality.
This particular neighborhood came from Chicago because when LBJ created the 235 housing debacle, he simultaneously tore down public housing, and gave these scum welfare vouchers to come to Ca and breed, all the while staying on welfare.
And what happened to these areas they settled in? Just look to Detroit for the answer.

Does it really require a genius to figure out the real problem here? Or rather the solution?

I was struck by the Elitist train of thought, people are animals who cannot care for themselves.
People are defenseless, must be watered, fed and given housing, just "masses of human flesh".

When it comes time to "clean out the cages", herd them somewhere else, kill off the vermin, sterilize the place, and put them back in the cages cities.  A few of the financially productive ones, will pay for the care and confinement of the masses of people.

Like rabbits, bred and raised in cages, if they ever where given freedom, they wouldn't know what to do with it - and wander back into their cage, to wait patiently by the water & feed bowls.

If we ever did have a SHTF scenario, I'm beginning to doubt these folks would even bother leaving the cities and ravage the countryside looking for food.  They'd eat garbage & grass clippings before attempting to to butcher a cow or even a chicken.   If the food doesn't come out of a cooler, canned or wrapped...  it's not really worth eating.

No mention of a community police force, they're helpless, send in the professionals, at best, the citizens might become informants, otherwise, they just get in the way of the exterminators.

I believe you are absolutely correct, if and when SHTF.
Those that do escape the cities will be the first out, and not organized in the least and not much of a threat, those left behind will be and trying to get to safety will group on the outskirts near hubs with food, while the rest will barricade in place.
But even after the majority are dead, the remaining few organized or not will remain, it's the only life they've ever known, because as you pointed out, that's where they were fed, never having to feed themselves, most have never even seen a farm, milked a cow, let alone butcher one, that's hard work.

I think depending on the severity of the SHTF scenario, those in rural areas will focus on the potential threat of outsiders, as long as one exists, and attempt to keep a sense of civility amongst themselves, but depending on the character of one's neighbor, things can flip in a heartbeat leaving all with the idea of dog eat dog.
I know in my area the core group is a hearty lot because of the terrain and severe weather, but over the last couple of decades we've had an influx of city people escaping the bay area, these will most likely be the weak link in our chain.
You've seen the movies, where every group has a Dr Smith, a weak female, an antagonist, a few level headed trying to keep the group together due to safety in numbers.

My thought is to keep them alive, so as to have fodder if needed, distractions, something for the predators to focus on.
But all things aside, eventually the food runs out, and those with food will have to kill every person they see, regardless, because in the end, it's the law of the jungle.
But like you, I think if you're far enough from the city, you probably won't ever have to contend with their problem, eventually they'll all die off for lack of food.

Just got back from OBX (Outer Banks, NC), a place that's gone from lower income & few residents to mega-wealthy vacationers' homes and huge influx of vacationers... renting those expensive homes.

When the island chain was isolated, it probably was 'survive at any cost' - there's a lot of ocean out there, with both fish and sharks (when needed).  The seemingly safest places might be the ones with natural barriers (ocean), but also the most difficult to flee in the event of a natural disaster (hurricane).  Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there - everything is imported, worse than Hawaii, it's too small., and has a long history of scavengers, picking through the shipwrecks.

Like most people who have lived any place more than a dozen years, we get content where we are - perfect location, or not - it might be in plain sight and completely ignored in a SHTF scenario.

By contrast, the folks we met, were rather "proud" of their city lot houses (in a decaying city, slowly being de-industralized).  One guy was so proud, he pointed out his house & baseball look-a-like checkered lawn, via Google Earth.   So I gave him my address, and bingo!  Google earth was 1/4 mile off the "mark", 2 farms away.  Found his house, couldn't find mine.... I like that.  I should have asked if he was in the satellite photo, holding his hand outstretched, with a "You're #1" middle finger extension... or welcoming arms, "Look at my beautiful, checkered lawn!"  He was... after all... a bit proud to point out his exact location, and brag on everything, how much time and money he plows into his urban lawn.

>yawn<

Also showed me a picture of a nice thick steak - a bunch of guys, like a tradition, get together and grill out on the "baseball outfield, checkered lawn" - like a baseball ritual.  Grill some nice thick steaks.  "Oh, where did you get them?", I asked, "Got a field, farm or farmer raising them for you?".

"From a store, a grocery store." - with this puzzled look, like 'where the hell else would you find a steak, dummy!?'

"Oh ... the Cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and Ducks "mow" & "fertilize" our "lawn" - for free....  then we EAT THEM", I said with a huge grin.   :ttoung:
