Three teenagers in masks were shot and killed by a Rockdale County homeowner Monday morning, authorities said.

Investigators determined that the juveniles, ages 15, 16 and 16, were involved in an exchange of gunfire with the White Oak Court homeowner shortly after 4 a.m., Rockdale sheriff's office spokesman Deputy Lee Thomas said in an emailed statement Monday afternoon.All three juveniles were from Conyers, Thomas said. Channel 2 Action News said two of them were brothers.

Deputies were called to the single-story home to investigate a report of shots fired. They found three "young men" down on the ground outside, Sheriff Eric Levett said at the scene. "Upon our arrival, the deceased was at the edge of a driveway and partially in the roadway," he said. "The other young man was a little bit down the street, where it appears he was running."Deputies administered first aid to him and another teen. Both later died after being taken to a hospital, according to the sheriff's office.The juveniles allegedly approached the residence and attempted to rob three people in the front yard, Thomas said. One of the attempted robbery suspects brandished a gun and fired at the residents before the homeowner returned fire, according to the statement.
The robbery victims were not injured in the shooting. No  charges have been filed.

Regarding Rockdale, Solar, remember when you were telling me about Rio Linda -- that city Rush makes fun of?  I think Bronx will concur that Rockdale is the Rio Linda of Atlanta.  The weirdest, stupidest stories come from there.

Kinda sad really when this is news in a our country.  It's not clear why this couldn't have ended in a more reasonable manner.  Another example of how the proliferation guns makes our nation look like a primitive society imo.

Now that's funny, because I was looking at other sources hoping for better details and noticed the resemblance, with the exception, Rio linda is  99% white and 80% white trash.
In one of the Rockdale photos I saw a black guy with a mullet. Yeah, there's a definite connection.

Oddly enough, when you look at Urban Sprawl in the Central Valley, Rio Linda is like a drop of oil in the middle of the valley, nothing connected to it, the sprawl avoided the area.

If on a good day a sheriff is in my area, they're still half an hour away. I know you have the same issue.
I'm ten miles from the nearest fire station which is still ten times closer than the sheriff, and it takes them 45 minutes to get out here, and that's assuming the weather cooperates.

My county sheriff has already stated clearly, he stands by the 2nd as it's written and will refuse to enforce an unconstitutional governmental order of confiscation.
He said he knows his force is outnumbered ten thousand to one, and said there is no way in Hell he would ever send his deputies on a suicide mission.

well no, it's not kinda sad. You are aware the intruders fired first? It would have been "kinda sad" had the home owners been killed and the police had no idea who did it. But, now other homeowners can sleep better knowing that not only will these three never rob again, but there are pretty good neighbors out there.
