Thats some really interesting information.
Do you have a source for it? I suspect it is dependent upon geographical layout.

Yes, the Formula only works for Larger Cities not Vastly populated areas like NYC or Areas where formula puts you two states away ...

I would like to know more about this formula, what is its purpose? Is it to determine locations to choose WTSHTF?

It triggered some thinking, but does not seem complete in some ways.

Are there formulas similar to determine distance from smaller populations as well? If you take a compass and draw circles from the larger cities, and scale it down to smaller population areas, and draw circles from those, the areas left are supposed to do what? show you the most favorable ares to be before or after a major EOTWAWKI scenario?

Fun to play with.

For them that do not know.

WTSHTF  =   "When The Shit Hits The Fan".

EOTWAWKI  =  "End of the World As We Know It".

Sorry! I thought the anacronyms were commonly known. I must spend too much time in similar forums.

I have no problems with it when used in chat room and the like.  But on a political forum it can be taken the wrong way.  It is like buzzwords, there is a time a place for them sometimes.  A side board like this I see no problem with it now and then.  BUT on the main Political board I keep away from it a much as I can.

Agree, and the only real issue is, if the person using it really wants to get their point across, then using them is only to their own detriment.
Most people just ignore it and move on to the next post.
I'm not talking so much about TEOTWAKI and such, but rather texting language, or some more obscure usages that can have several meanings.
Its mostly used with the kids that keep changing the meaning of the abbreviations.

Then there are to old standards like FUBAR, that meaning will never change.
Like the Dim party, totally FUBAR. :))

As an old fart, I only wish the old standard was still in effect. If you use an acronym, you use the full word (words) followed by the abbreviation one time so that everyone is on the same definition.
