I had this in my C rations back in the day, and yes, it does stick in the ut so you don't get hungry.
You can make it with all sorts of flavors, sugar molasses, dried fruit etc.
I think I'll give it a shot.

Remember if you add sugar molasses, dried fruit it will not last as long.

You'll still get a good decade if not more. It's all about preparation in preserving. Like anything, it'll go stale after being exposed to the air which is why we use oxygenators and silica gel in all our stored foods.
