We have been in full-blown Hurricane preparedness for the last 24hrs ... If you think of it, pray for the folks that will be out in the worst of the weather, keeping power, communications, gas & water flowing.   This takes a heck of a lot of coordination, it is expensive, and keeps these guys & gals away from the relative safety of home.

If you're able to stay home, please stay home & give the folks more room to keep all the stuff you take for granted working ... without having to stop and pull you out of a ditch, because you forgot to stock up the fridge with Beer.   These are times when everyone matters, no matter where you are, how you live & who you love.
All animals are created equal; Some just take longer to cook.   Survival is keeping an eye on those around you...

Yep, prudence is in-flux at the moment.  Living near the Texas coast, I always hoarded plywood.

Duct-tape the plate-glass, unplug everything, load the car with heirlooms.  The US east-coast doesn't have the added tornado threat that hurricanes can bring, like Texas has... but knowing a back-country escape-route is vital.  Stay off the main roads if you waited too long to leave.
