No doubt, we need some kind of government funded security.
Register everyone, give them a single internet security key... so they can be tracked.

Of course, nothing will happen until something big (or can be made to sound big), and the public will demand the government step in and regulate....

Imagine your fridge being monitored by someone like Mooch?  - one of those "connected fridge" that tells you how cold it is, what groceries you need to restock, how old that green mass of ??? really is...
Or your stove being monitored by Al Gore's company, how much CO2 was produced cooking that pizza you ate for a snack.

Along come the hackers, who turn your fridge temperature up to 90 degrees while you're away at work, and then turn it back down an hour before you get home - deliberately spoiling your food (employed by your local super market).   Of your neighborhood eye doc, hacks your pc and starts messing with the resolution so you're more likely to get your eyes checked...

Endless possibilities for the "connected" world... and 14yr olds.

The tech is available through 'Smart Meter' technology and your Utility, all that's needed is for Homeland Security to get a secret warrant.
I wrote on this several years ago and why people needed to fight the so called 'Smart Meter technology', but instead, Congress allowed the Marxist to get away with it.
