I own a two story home and in every room with a window upstairs I have a window ladder and next to the ladders is a ball pein hammer.

Please if you have a two story house do yourself and your family a favor and invest in window ladders. They aren't expensive at all. $40 bucks per ladder.

Also, they are only to be used for one time only. What I did was buy an extra one and used it to practice getting out the window and climbing down the ladder. My family of four got the feel for the escape route just in case. We were all scared shitless but we did it calmly and not to bad for the first and hopefully the last time. The important parts is we got a very good feel as to what to expect. I did call my local Fire Dept. and they did come out while we did our practice run.

Now I'm not promoting any business but this is the latter I have in front or under the bed in every room upstairs.

5 found dead in suspected arson fire at Denver home

DENVER (AP) — Five people were found dead Wednesday after an early morning fire destroyed a suburban Denver home — a blaze authorities said they suspect was intentionally set. Three people escaped the fire by jumping from the home's second floor.
