On Thursday, FOX 10's Justin Lum spoke with the homeowner who allegedly shot the suspect.
For Aaron LaTowsky, his sole responsibility is protecting his wife, three kids, and their nanny, as well as the family dog, Sadie. LaTowsky says Sadie alerted him to the break-in.
"So I came inside, and I saw one of our side doors was open and she was barking down the hall towards my kids' bedrooms," said Aaron.
The rest of the family was asleep at the time. Right away, LaTowsky says he grabbed his shotgun.
"We never would have known," said Aaron's wife, Brenda LaTowsky. "We would have continued to sleep and sleep through it. so I'm just so thankful."
LaTowsky went into his daughter's room, where he says the suspect came out with a large piece of wood, his face masked and his body naked.
"He basically was lunging at me, so it was very quick," said Aaron. "He had his hands in the air. I could see something dark or black coming at me, and again it was very, very close, so I fired almost immediately."
Two shots killed the suspect, who police believe to be an 18-to-19-year-old man.
The LaTowskys say this may have been the first break-in at their home, but they have always been prepared.
"God Bless America and the Second Amendment," said Aaron. "Glad I was able to protect my family. God bless the police for coming so quick to take care of us.".

There are a myriad of stories of criminals being shot by law abiding citizens, home owners and concealed carry permit holders in my monthly NRA magazine. Unfortunately, the media always attempts to "spin" the stories if they print them at all, that the criminal was the victim.
Is it not curious that the more death penalty laws a State has the higher the homicide rate?
Then too, how many are killed in cities like Chicago by guns that are bought in second amendment States like Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri?
How many are killed by drug cartels armed by American made weapons, and smuggled to Central America?

The family, where my father lived, drank real coffee only on Sundays.

A rigged election, packing the courts, installing a system where the votes no longer count is what will destroy our constitution. Just look at some of the newer posters here, they are already eager to trash the constitution because it is being taught to be out of date. You know it's rather interesting. In my career, I have worked with people and had people on my staff with Master's degrees, PhD's and Bachelor's degrees. Never once did any of those folks ever tell me how "intelligent", "educated" nor how high their IQ was. Interestingly enough, when someone told me how "intelligent", "educated" or "learned" they were, it was usually fluff. The people who were intelligent didn't have to brag about it, anyone and everyone could see how intelligent or educated they were. I am quite suspicious when someone brags about their education, intelligence or experience!

Good Guy With A Gun Stops Mass Shooting
A man armed with a hunting rifle shot and killed an alleged mass shooter at a Fort Smith, Arkansas, apartment complex Saturday morning.
5 News Online reports the incident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. when 26-year-old Zachary Arnold allegedly tried to lure residents out of their apartments in order to shoot them.
One apartment resident claimed Arnold was screaming, "You guys get out here, come out here, everyone get out of this building right now."
Eighty-seven-year-old apartment resident Lois Hicks came out to try to calm Arnold down then fled back into her apartment after seeing the rifle he was allegedly holding. Arnold allegedly followed her and shot her dead inside her residence.
Arnold was apparently shooting at other apartments too, and one of the other residents grabbed a hunting rifle and killed Arnold.
