XFL return in 2020?

At first, I thought, yeah... right, but read the whole article anyways and couple of things stood out.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22213241/vince-mcmahon-gimmick-free-xfl-return-2020
QuoteWWE founder and chairman Vince McMahon announced Thursday he is giving a professional football league another go.
...
Its first season will have eight teams around the country playing a 10-week schedule

Ok, so that means there probably won't be a team NEAR your city, or state for that matter - no biggie for me.  It would help if they could identify a team with an area(s) though.

QuoteOne mark of the new league, McMahon said, will be faster games. The ideal running time, he said, would be two hours.

I like that!   The NFL games are way too long, they're looking more and more like Baseball, with all it's L-O-N-G pauses between pitches.   Shorter games, IMO would be a plus.... I might actually stay awake - sorry NFL, 3-4hrs is just too long to SIT STILL and WATCH - wasting half the afternoon in the process.

Quote"People don't want social and political issues coming into play when they are trying to be entertained," McMahon said. "We want someone who wants to take a knee to do their version of that on their personal time."

This is a given.  Too bad the NFL can't understand that!

QuoteMcMahon also said he would preclude any player with a criminal record,

Sounds fine with me!   Why can't an athlete keep his/her nose clean?   Mystery for me, for a long time.  If you really LOVE the GAME - bring a little disciple and order to your life - on and off the field.

But - This REALLY got my attention.
Quote"I don't think people want to see the same thing when they're streaming as they see on television," McMahon said. "That's boring. I think fans want it shot in a totally different way, and I think there's an immersive opportunity that's more interactive to the game."

Let me elaborate, on what I'd really enjoy, starting with the "Home Team Camera Perspective", I'll call it.   Typically there are dozens of cameras around the field, a few overhead included.   I want camera views, like just above the Quarter Back's head, looking down the field, and when on Defense, a camera angle looking from the middle of the Defense towards the Offensive Line of the opposing team.   In both cases, follow the football.   Give me a similar view the players see - I'm not really interested in these long sideline shots, really, it's a perspective better served if you're actually at the game.   A view from 10' behind the Full Back position a foot or two above his head, following a running back would be as close to the game as actually being on the field.   Same goes for the Defensive view, maybe start with 10yds from the line of scrimage, a low angle, so you can "see" a running back coming right at you, or swinging out to the right of left.

Can you imagine seeing a screen pass from the Defensive position?  How about a Slant route, happening right in front of you!   You're looking at the QB, scrambling behind the Offensive line, and suddenly you see him practically throw the ball into your lap - a guy comes out of nowhere, catches a pass, right in front of you!   Or you see a mass of bodies, struggling at the line, and suddenly a small "hole" opens and thru it bursts a tiny running back, running right at you.  The camera follows the football, to a large extent, from the player's perspective.

Between the plays, show me the top down, or slightly behind the line of the HOME team, MY team, I'd like to see what the line looks like, defensive positions, etc., looking down the field, not some out-of-perspective side angle view.   And, give me sub audio feeds of 3 sources, Home, Visitor & Generic BS.  Make use of the Home team's radio broadcasts, they're always better.

With all the possibilities and options for specific video/audio feeds, the NFL has really missed out on this opportunity, maybe the XFL sees it.

Just a hint, but when you parse the Hell out of an article, it makes it nearly impossible to follow.
Maybe post the article, then comment?

Many of those articles I parse cover too many points and are too long.
OK, I won't bother next time.  Thanks for the suggestion.

The problem is, it's hard to follow, both you and the article.
I learned long ago, it's best to parse a troll's post, because you're targeting that individual, but most move along to posts containing no more than three sentences.
It's always best to post parts of the article and follow up with comments. Most people come to read quick points, and seldom find interest in parsed posts.
Also, long-winded replies get ignored as well, I know, I make them all the time. And yes, they get ignored
It's just human nature.

Sorry, it took so long for me to get the message.   I'm just not good at that, it's just a fault of mine.  Time to quit, I guess.  Thanks for everything.  Keep up the good work here.  Later.

Please don't take these posts as personal, I make them for teaching purposes for everyone. I want every voice to be heard, but when someone makes it a chore to read what they've written, then they aren't being heard.
I know, I could have done this through PM, but then what I am teaching isn't being learned by others that may make the same mistakes.

I've been doing this for decades, I know what attracts readership and I know what repels them, and you have some great insight to share, I just want to make sure your voice doesn't fall to deaf ears.
It's hard enough running this forum, the last thing I want to do is repeat myself, so I use certain posts as teaching tools.
If you need evidence, go back and look at some of your parsed OP's and see if you had any responses.
It's not your fault, people are in general, lazy or have time constraints and want to take in as many posts as possible with what little time they have.

I read where someone said if the NFL is gonna be crying and bitching about all their own teams having racist names and logos, the XFL should have nothing but racist names and logos.

lol, can you just imagine a few.........

And don't forget the homophobic / misogynistic / colonialist / patriarchal possibilities....... and insult a few medical conditions while we have the opportunity.

I can think of some since I watched the Attitude era during the late 90s as well as the original ECW.

Philadelphia Meat Squad - have the initials P.M.S on their jerseys (Pretty Mean Sisters, WWF)
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.
