Good ones...  Both are scary, but I think Scott may be stuck in new putter Timewarp Zone.

All I know is it will be exciting beginning the back 9 on Sunday. For any who have never been to Augusta National it should be on your bucket list. TV does not do it justice. Also, it is clear the event is not being run by democrats when one attends.

Literally.  The camera couldn't find the ball half-the-time.  That's piss-poor production.

And I'm guilty of piss-poor prevarication.  Hadley didn't qualify for the tournament.

Oh well, my other 4 picks are near the top... with Spieth leading.  Taxed's picks are there too.

Yeah, Augusta's gonna hafta let the LPGA play there sooner or later.  It's ridiculous not to.  But that's more of a traditional Dixiecrat mindset, not allowing females to stage a Major-tournament.

What obligation does Augusta National have to the LPGA.? It would not be The Masters and the Augusta market does not offer the opportunity for success with its marginal population. Also, the golf course is closed May through September. No way would an event be scheduled close to The Masters and to schedule an event in October has no chance during football season.

Zero obligation.  Then somebody better tell Ford and Payne to quit using girls to promo their DriveChipandPutt event.  That's crass... Commercials with various clips of young girls joyously celebrating a mail-invite...  " I'm going to Augusta!! "

Should include a disclaimer;  Good-luck future LPGA-ers.  Too bad you'll never seriously play here.

Plus, Payne's an important cog in the US Olympic Golf Program, I think... men and women golfers.  It just feels wrong.

Fans of the real-estate itself, want to see it used again... like Talledega Superspeedway is.

What is your problem with Augusta National? Women have been able to play there even before they had female members.

Please comment about the financial viability of an LPGA event in Augusta.

This is the op-ed that got me thinking...

The writer seems to answer the question in his third to last paragraph.

"What does Augusta have to gain? Aside from more money that it doesn't need, probably not much. It would be a huge public relations hit, but the hassles of staging another tournament are immense and might not be worth the added revenue and prestige. This is certainly not to suggest such an endeavor would be easy, especially given Augusta's penchant for wanting to do everything exactly perfect when it comes to staging a tournament."

I was going to pick Phil originally, but I thought I heard he wasn't feeling well, so I didn't even consider him.  Looks like he's in striking distance if Spieth turns into a headcase.  I NEVER count out Tiger, but I figured he's too entangled with his swing changes, but he's still in it, assuming he just dominates tomorrow and Spieth falls apart.  I do expect him to fall apart, because 3 days of that is just too much for any human, I believe.  If he holds it together then he'll officially be on my badass list.

Tomorrow should be pretty fun...

Yeah, it's hard to formulate running commentary on a golf-tournament with one guy so far out in-front of everybody.

Spieth will most-likely sputter at unexpected junctures.  Tiger, Rory, and Phil will capitalize to certain degrees... but they tend to sputter in expected situations (Phil; putting, Rory; irons, Tiger; from the tee).

Justin Rose is an unknown factor.  He's certainly in-the-groove, but years late in blooming.
Charley Hoffman is the working-man's John Daly.  But I don't think 'steadiness' will get it done.
Dustin Johnson needs another biscuit for breakfast.

CBS cams are still having trouble finding the ball.  I never noticed it in previous years.  -Defeats the purpose of going high-definition

That's so true, and why I don't use a driver.  Every time I've thought about pulling it out to unload one, I always think that if Tiger splashes his driver, then who the hell am I?

So much can happen on the back nine on Sunday afternoon. There is a lot of quality on the leaderboard. It will be fun.
