Apparently he wasn't even scheduled to fight, but for whatever reason, the other fighter couldn't fight and Ruiz was the runner up. The odds were 25 to 1, he blew everyone's minds.

Anything can happen in a heavy weight bout. Have you noticed in any combat sport being it boxing or MMA the buff muscular fighters always ran out of stamina. They have to KO you in the first few rounds which in this case Joshua failed to do that.
