Right on the money!
This why I no longer watch "Professional Sports", they let a bunch of overpaid yahoos disrespect us and our Nation. My answer was to never watch again. This coach has the Right answer.

Good for this coach. That spineless hack Goddell should hire him for a little pep talk, maybe the NFL would get it's ratings back.

This guy is what we expected when I was playing sports. It is sad we have evolved to where this guy is unique.

If you all don't mind my asking why does this matter to you all  and this coach what someone does during the national anthem?   Did anyone who kneel cause a public disturbance and disrupt the ceremony?  Did they cause anyone bodily harm or spit on anyone?   Did anyone of them affect you personally in any kind of way?  It would be one thing if they heckled the ceremony like SJWs did with Ben Shapiro, Milo Yiannopoulos and other speakers but I don't see how kneeling, sitting and/or staying silent is disrespect?

Why do you all care so much about this?

And, finally I've been to a few games.  Why wasn't the concession stands closed during the national anthem and when people when to get something to eat during this national anthem why didn't anyone say anything to them?

Get personal for a moment.
Think about someone you love most, now think about them being disrespected in front of you, be it at their funeral where someone dances on their grave and curses them and their relatives, spits on the flowers on their grave and sets fire to it.

As an American and a Vet, the flag holds all of this, it holds the memories of those who fought and died to protect our Rights to be able to have the freedoms we have today. As well as me personally for having chose to serve and protect their right to be (SIP), Stupid in Public.
The flag is America and to disrespect it, is to disrespect the memories and their loved ones who grieved their loss.

Your actions speak louder than your words in your life time.  I would not trust them with my freedom.

Exactly!!! Our coach's goal was to make men out of boys. That's what it has always been about, learning the rules of sportsmanship, working together towards a goal. If you complained, he'd say Fuck you, play, or get off the team.

Of course!  I would feel disrespected.  But, I don't see that in this case though.  Colin and others never spat, danced, cursed or set anything on fire.  He and others did nothing but kneel.  No noise by them!  No disruption by them!

Others who have burned the flag or spat on it are being disrespectful.

Again, how was kneeling disrespect?  In fact, I think Colin and others are very respectful.  They don't burn it, stomp on it, spit on it, etc.  They simply in their way gave their respect while at the same time made a statement.

In fact, kneeling before something or someone could be argued to hold something in high regard.  Why couldn't Colin and others hold the flag in high regard while at the same time making a statement against something?  How is making a statement disrespect?

By kneeling they are complicit in the actions of others. Like being the get away driver in a holdup.

1.  Of course there is a lot that I don't understand.   That's why I ask questions and challenge other people's views including my own.  Their responses including yours even when they respond angrily sometimes gives me insight as to how others think.

2.  Being on this forum has given me a greater understanding as to how the conservative mind works, why they think the way they do and how they get from A to B to C.

3.  As for living on the gov't plantation a.  SSDI is not welfare.   and b.  From now on, every time you state I'm on the gov't plantation I'm going to say "Henry Higgins."

Do you WORK for a living. (Yes or No)
Or do you live off other working people money.  At your age if you do not work for a living you live on the government plantation, other peoples money.

Put it this way: you don't bite the hand that feeds you.

The flag, the anthem, the history, the memory, etc. is the reason we have Constitutional freedoms in the first place.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.
