If I was one of those super duper athletes that can demand $300 plus million in ten years I also would consider what state I would play in simply put because of taxes.

In short take Bruce Harper who just signed a $330 million deal with the Phillies of Philadelphia. Los Angeles Dodges and San Francisco Giants also was in the bidding war to sign Harper. The reason he signed with the Phillies was taxes.

Out of the $330 million Harper gets to take home $187 million signing with the Phillies. If he would have signed with the SF Giants Harper would have taken home $161 million out of $330 million deal. Now with the LA Dodger's deal Harper would have taken home $87 million out of $330 million.

Losing $100 million is a lot of money to lose just for playing for the LA Dodgers vs. the Philadelphia Phillies except....if my New York Yankees came calling all bets are off. I'll fine a way to live off the money I earned playing the game that I adore for the team that I love the New York Yankees...!

The San Francisco Giants reportedly missed out on inking a 10-year deal with former Washington Nationals player Bryce Harper because California taxes are just too high.

People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

It is the reason most pro golfers have their homes in FL. Sure, you can practice year round due to weather, but taxes are the real reason. There is also an enclave of golfers in Sea Island, GA.

So how come Harper didn't sign with the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays or the Seattle Mariners?

They didn't offer him a contract.

They didn't offer him a contract, or the offer never got past his agent?

Knowing Harper's money making agent Scott Boras if any offer wasn't above $300 million plus the team never got past him.
