A number of bloggers are posting videos that show bison and other animals allegedly leaving Yellowstone National Park, prompting theories that as earthquakes ramp up the seismic activity will set off the Yellowstone supervolcano.

Two of the main bloggers behind the discussion stress that there's no way to know when the supervolcano will go off but note that the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that hit on March 30 seemed to set off a reaction from the animals, who are moving for a reason.

Animals leaving Yellowstone?  Where are they going?  Yeah, let's leave our prime hunting-and-grazing areas 25-plus days ahead of time because we have some sorta mystical ability that only lib-bloggers are privvy-to... 

Animals only care about immediacy.  How're the Yellowstone ranger-stables doing?  Horses are prolly the best overall ground-vibration analysts and thunder-listeners.  Goats, mountain-goats, cows, are all up there...

Predators couldn't care less.  If it doesn't involve eating and having-sex, they only care about the moment.

There'd hafta be a Yellowstone 'super-bulge' first.  I'd agree that it might be of short duration.  Magma just doesn't shoot-upwards without a pressure-buildup.  And wouldn't animals really fear the ash-drift as much as an eruption?  That reduces the escape-radius by almost 180-degrees.

I would be curious about the amount of helium being released from an independent and trustworthy source. If this does blow then expect most people on northern hemishpere to perish..
