What if technology went too far?

As a musician I find it sad technology is taking the studios away from us musicians as well as CDs since those were once a great source of revenue other than touring. If I could go back in time and tell people to oppose these download services such as amazon mp3, napster and itunes at all costs, CDs could still be strong today although I hear rumors vinyls may come back.

The Chevy Spark si a example of how CDs are going in the way of the dinoseurs. It doesnt have a CD player, and only streams music from a sd card or mp3 player. While I'm one for auxilary, I dont want manufactuers to get rid of CD players. They think Pandora and Sirius (although I like Sirius) is what will suffice consumers pfft.
I was just talking about this the other day, how the world of true musicians is disappearing due to computer generated crap.
If one looks at the hits that stay on the charts the longest, they most likely had an actual band backing them, or an actual orchestra.
Personally, I love the LP for it's depth of reproduction over the CD, though I tend to be a purist, though sadly we are few due to the fact that most kids never ever experienced the era.
Much like how our generation experienced more freedom and simpler times with just a TV and land line in the house.
Kids today have nothing comparable, so they accept it.

I can't afford to be a true purist, but I'll tell ya, my tuner is a big, heavy 70s era Sony. Playing Cd's through it, that haven't been overly tampered with, sounds pretty darned good to me. The best ones are where they just dump the original master onto a cd.

There's a reason musicians still prefer tube amplifiers, not only do they have the power to feed the speakers, they also produce full spectrum frequency better.
I have a friend that rebuilds amps for musicians, he is constantly searching for tubes, he is also back logged 6 months and not because he can't find parts, but because people don't want the crap coming out.

I still have my Pioneer from 1973 that I bought when in Korea through Pacex for a ridiculous price, but it blows everything out of the water built today.
Though it does produce a bit of hiss.

One of my unfinished projects that's cluttering up my place, is restoring an old 1930s era Bendix cabinet radio. I got tubes from here. I haven't powered them up yet, but they sure do look pretty. I couldn't find any negative feedback about them.

Yeah, he said he can still get tubes, but some needed are quite costly, he's even ordered from Croatia, where they actually still make some obscure ones.

I dont feel like using my DNA as storage spaace, thank you scientists. I rather use a bakers dozen of jump drives before I allow something odd in my body.

I have about 200 CDs I've bought, the entire collection over $200. I remember my moms Volvo 850, with cassettes and CDs either it would eject the cd or cassette automatically or play it from the start. Hell, I rather use cassettes before I do digital downloads.
