This guy got tired of the horrible software that is Adobe Flash, and his browsing experience has been so much better.  Some of the comments on the article are ridiculous, that the problem isn't Flash. Those are typically dedicated Flash developers who put all their eggs into the Flash basket in the late 90s/00s, and don't have any other skill to feed their families.  Apple did the internet world a favor by not using Flash, forcing web developers to support non-flash iPhones, and now tablets, and improving browser competition to accelerate the HTML5 standard.  I used to tell Flash developers all the freaking time that they need to get another skill under their belt, because Flash is crap, and someday the market will put a bullet in its head.

He's absolutely correct! The only time I have issues is due to flash locking and my page freezes.
I cal ActiveX, ActiveXXX because that's where most of the problems arise and get passed along to the unsuspecting.
Get a link from a friend you trust in email, click it, and it says you need to download an update to flash, what it really is, is a trojan hidden within the prog.
Oh, and the email you got from a friend, wasn't even sent by him, it was generated at the very site that told you to upgrade.

I am very wary of sites that say you need to upgrade to a newer version of flash, of course they are always willing to do it for you, all you need to do is click, so they can steal and take over your pooter.

I haven't updated Adobe in months, I got tired of an update every week usually a large download at that.

Totally.  No serious website nowadays is asking you to update Flash.

OH oh oh, I almost forgot. Remember I said the browser was hanging, just spinning and not finishing loading?
I hit cntr alt del and closed down non essentials and it was still hanging, then when I closed adobe....
Miraculously it was fine.
Normally I have adobe off, but I had viewed several PDF files and it became unstable, that was the cause, probably flash within Adobe running.
