I thought this interesting, well written, and an amazing investigation into the disappearance, the subsequent search, and the incompetence of bureaucracy. Also fascinating what one person on a mission can learn.
'Five years ago, the flight vanished into the Indian Ocean. Officials on land know more about why than they dare to say.'

I have no interest in reading it, how about you just tell us what they think happened?
Yes please tell us.
OK. The piece covers the investigation and the lack of support by the Malaysian government. It details the satellite information that amazes me given the detail and the tracking info. They know exactly when and where the plane went off course. A fascinating piece is the search for parts by a man who did this search on his own out of curiosity. And finally it covers the pilot's personal life and troubles. In the end there are no definite answers, but the article and the detail are an excellent example of how good journalism can be. Read it if you are a student writer or just like to write.
"If you don't wake up and have your own thing, whether it's writing or reading or traveling or acting or dancing or singing or being a mother or a father, something that drives you, then it's all worth nothing. One of the key elements in happiness is purpose." Logic
Thank you for the recap, Was thinking it was going to be some "plane lured off course, people kidnapped/enslaved" story.
I'm Occam's Razor on the Malaysia flight... someone took it down and everyone (countries) wants to cover it up.

I'm still inclined to go with the black hole theory.

The most likely case. Though I'm inclined to believe it was a hit disguised as a mass casualty.
