I, as with many kids I grew up with, dreamed of going into space. I now know it takes a special person who can withstand space travel. I get cabin fever. Bad. As in real hard to live with bad. As in I can't stand me bad. As in my dog looks at me funny bad.  Whoever gets picked to make that trip, my hat is off to them. I am glad that the program is coming back to life and look forward to following the program and dreaming once again of space travel, but only while I am working in the great outdoors.

2 air locks & lots of room?
In space propellant/fuel transfer?

... adding them to the prayer list ...  that's really gutsy stuff!

That's simple!   They lost the ability to challenge themselves, be innovative and think outside the box!

I'm in Communications, and NOBODY has come up with a new transport medium, much less talk about it.
All they come up with is pushing more light over fiber, dividing it into smaller wavelengths, trying to break each wavelength into smaller pieces - but still using the same old fiber - some of which is +25yrs old.  Subsea cables aren't any better, old technology.

Musk comes along, somehow manages to get funding for his ideas, and picks off the engineers from NASA or wherever, and tells them to scrap that old stuff, we're gonna start over - put on your thinking caps.  I'll bet he's had some heated discussions, and just the opposite with some engineers, to get where he's got.

I sincerely hope, people are paying attention to what & how Musk is pushing his ideas forward - the future of America is dependent on innovators like this.  Problem remains, few companies are willing to take RISKS, Elon Musk is prepared to sacrifice a few spaceships to get it right... it's costly to do what he's doing.
