This is great news!

A man who was completely paralysed from the waist down can walk again after a British-funded surgical breakthrough which offers hope to millions of people who are disabled by spinal cord injuries.

Polish surgeons used nerve-supporting cells from the nose of Darek Fidyka, a Bulgarian man who was injured four years ago, to provide pathways along which the broken tissue was able to grow.

The 38-year-old, who is believed to be the first person in the world to recover from complete severing of the spinal nerves, can now walk with a frame and has been able to resume an independent life, even to the extent of driving a car, while sensation has returned to his lower limbs.

Wow!!!  Just fantastic, looks like more hope for others down the line.

Back in the mid 70s, I was paralyzed from the waist down, with some feeling on the Right, of course.
I asked the doctor if I would ever walk again, he said it was in God's hands, but there was nothing medicine could ever do, and probably never would in my life time.
Yes, God saw that I'd walk again, and live with constant pain, which regardless, is still a gift to walk and run.

But to see this in my lifetime is simply amazing to me, may even have an avenue for me to alleviate my pain.

Now if they could just find a simple fix for my heart.

Yep this is awesome news for those of us with nerve damage, or problems with nerve pain etc.... Sadly though I'll be dead and in the grave before the U.S. FDA approves the same thing and lets Americans achieve the same "benefits".
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)
