Pretty funny, thanks for posting that!
I wonder though how the mouse got stuck??? If it was able to squeeze in, why not back out? Mice can squeeze themselves almost completely flat and through holes that are about as small as a nickel  - their bones are very flexible. Do you think it's possible someone was playing a trick - maybe to get some free Internet publicity? If so it was brilliantly executed!

Cute Pic !

I think the vintage Trap allows mice to crawl into a hole on the side; the mouse depresses a spring-loaded door; crawls in, then: BAM !

Fix the problem.  All I can say that mouse must have been very big back then.  Just look a the space between the bars.

The trap is probably smaller than it appears. If the overall dimensions were 3-1/2" wide by 3" high, the distance inside the bars would be just 1/4", but I'm guessing.

Also note in the "Before" pic it appears taller than wide; in the "After" pic it appears wider than tall.

And what is the wooden block inside for ?

Note the two wires in the center can be pulled UP using a small loop, thus allowing the Mouse-Trapper to empty the cage.

Ah HAH !

The wooden block holds a metal axle, that supports a small spring-loaded door.
