Mark Levin no-more
« on: July 15, 2017, 02:34:36 PM »
A couple of months ago, the Mark Levin Show deleted the ability to just do a straight download of the daily programs.

Well, I've tried again and again, because I don't have a continual on-line, unlimited internet - basically a little faster than dial-up, it was easy to just click on the programs and listen to them on Saturday.  Which was pretty good for working in the shop, listening in the car, etc.

Alas, that's all gone now.... and so am I from Mark Levin.  He's not on any local radio stations, and listening to him through the static from AM stations +500 miles away is impossible during the summer months.   I'm really disappointed, he's providing no provision for restricted internet folks.

Back when he launched LevinTV, I was a charter subscriber, anxiously awaiting the programs - I could download at work, and view at home - I thought.   Nope!   "It's a streaming service, cannot be downloaded." was the answer from customer support.  I watched 2-3 episodes at work, and that's it.   When the renewal notices started flowing into my email, I asked again, and got - "We're a streaming service, we cannot be downloaded."  In the nicest possible apologetic voice.   "You can view this on your Iphone...", nope, not with data limitations, I better not!   "Well, you should really get current with technology..." - tell that to the wireless carriers, they're the ones who want me to pay through the nose for bandwidth.

Goodbye Mark Levin.  Unless you come to a local radio station, you've completely lost me, and whoever else is data restricted.   This latest podcast / download restriction really takes the cake - I suspect some bean-counter made that decision.

I listen to him on the Audio Rewind.  Do you get that option?

If I can't download, I'm screwed.  It literally takes a second or two at work, but gets all chopped up if trying to listen to anything streaming from home.  Up until a couple of months ago, I could quickly grab the week's worth of program to a thumb drive, pop it into the truck, or home computer - no problem.  Then they took away the whole bottom section from the webpage, and the rest is history.

I just went through the station guide - which is hopelessly out-of-date.  He, or his people are reducing their coverage - usually it works the other way around (CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX).  I guess we're relegated to "fly-over" status by Mark Levin.... his choice, not mine.

One other thing, I cannot install foreign software on my work PC.    Downloading a tiny audio file hasn't attract attention, installing software lights up the help desk nazis to a defcom 3 level.

You have a couple of options, assuming you can still download at work, or a library.
Youtube has his entire shows the next day.

Or podcast if you like.]

You can pick up a cheap Kindle Fire and download for later viewing from the local library.

Got it going again!   the DL process is SLOW with a poor connection, so I'll grab them while at work.

You can stream or download any podcast below from Audioboom. To stream, simply scroll to the podcast you want to listen to, then click on it. To download, scroll to the podcast you want on your computer, click on it, then click on the “cloud” icon at the bottom next to the “Subscribe” button:

Why'd they have to change it -who knows.

So, you first need to highlight the one you want, then just to the right of the box that says "Subcribe" - click on the dog-pile with the down facing arrow.
With my slow connection it takes several attempts - I get the top on in the list several times, unless I interrupt it.

Sigh... he had something that was easy, one click.   Just making it harder isn't going to appeal to anyone.

If I ever call in, I'll start with my Meatball recipe.  Sometimes... he sounds sympathetic to Washington insiders  - that'll get him fired up.

Know what you mean, until I got satellite, everything kept getting slower and slower, while sites kept cramming more and more flash/video onto their pages, and to add insult to injury, they loaded in the background, burning even more of my precious yet limited bandwidth.
Hell, there were times when my connection with Verizon was so bad, I reconsidered dialup, at least it was dependable.
We now have a Huges/Dish satellite with a 100 gig package, we never go over and that includes videos and microshaft updates.

Was looking at a Verizon unlimited package for $150 a mo.   Just can't justify that.   But, I guess that's a lot cheaper that $3000 a mo for birth control...  :scared:   $100 a day, dang!   All those sexual hangups Liberals have, I guess that's a bargain price, eh?

I pay less than $100.0 but you'd have to ask Toy the exact amount, and it's true highspeed, videos load right up and don't usually need buffering, using three different satellites.
