The general background here is that colleges and government and other outfits have been working on an ultra-high-speed data system which (with enhanced security features) promised to be the fastest way for our brightest people to communicate and work globally. ...But in perusing this meeting, I noticed that the chief technical officer for PBS was one of their speakers. I suppose we could make some pointed comments about the incestuous nature of liberals, campus radio, PBS and NPR...but there are limits to my vocabulary without resorting to what NPR calls conservatives.
