This is just an odd story that nobody seems to know what happened.  Murdock is the creator of Debian Linux (which Ubuntu and Mint are based on) and is one of the "leaders" in the tech world.  Apparently he kept tweeting about police brutality, and said he was going to commit suicide, and looks like he did.  From the little info I read, it looks like he had some mental problems or something.

He was in his early 40s, rich, and a celeb in the tech world, so it's just odd.

QuoteMurdock also vented his anger at the police. "(1/2) The rest of my life will be devoted to fighting against police abuse.. I'm white, I made $1.4 million last year, (2/2) They are uneducated, bitter, and and only interested in power for its own sake. Contact me [email protected] if you can help. -ian"

After leaving the courtroom, presumably a magistrate court, Murdock tweeted that he had been followed home by the police and assaulted again.

He continued, "I'm not committing suicide today. I'll write this all up first, so the police brutality ENDEMIC in this so call free country will be known." He added, "Maybe my suicide at this, you now, a successful business man, not a N****R, will finally bring some attention to this very serious issue."

His last tweet stated: "I am a white male, make a lot money, pay a lot of money in taxes, and yet their abuse is equally doned out. DO NOT CROSS THEM!?"

He appears to have died that night, December 28. At the time of this writing, the cause of death remains unknown.

His death is a great loss to the open-source world. He created Debian, one of the first Linux distributions and still a major distro; he also served as an open-source leader at Sun; as CTO for the Linux Foundation, and as a Docker executive. He will be missed.

Some people are crazy before they ever get famous or wealthy. Money only helps.

That said, I'll struggle with my illness, starting at nine figures left-of-decimal.

So a filthy stinking rich spoiled tech guy can't afford a security system to film this behavior, or hire security officers to protect him?
Screams typical lib with mental issues in the image of Michael Moore, with the exception Moore's still wasting oxygen.
Nope, no sympathy for cowards refusing to face life like the rest of us.

The mental disease would explain the liberalism.  And what kind of pussy decides to kill himself instead of dealing with the problem?

Just goes to show, money does not always equate being happy, or somehow immune from ever being depressed.

I am curious though, the article states he'd made tweets/posts about police brutality.

Was the guy in some kind of tussle/scuffle/issue with some P.D. someplace?
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

Just a question here but I find something a bit odd about the story in the O.P.

If the guy allegedly committed suicide, how is there no cause of death?

Anytime a human being dies under any kind of unknown circumstances. Or if it's a suicide.

They do an autopsy. And I can tell ya for a fact, an autopsy almost always will tell them how the person died.

I mean hell people, today, we can exhume bodies months later, do an autopsy on them and determine a cause of death.

Sometimes, they can do that years later too.

So how's this guys cause of death "undetermined".

Something sounds fishy there to me.

I mean not to be the resident conspiracist here, but seriously, that simply doesn't fit with available medical/scientific technology of today.

Or even current law regarding unexpected deaths at a residence, and the subsequent treatment/handling of the corpse.
