Hypothetical Yellowstone Supereruption and the USGS Volcanic Hazards Program

I'll make it short and simple: If the USGS Volcano Hazards Program were to determine that a supereruption was imminent, would they so inform the public, or would they keep such news from the public for fear of mass panic, food riots, etc. and notify only the U.S. Government and agencies such as FEMA?

Right now, this is what is coming from the USGS at Yellowstone.

Not being a conspiracy freak, still, I found this interesting. in the quote that follows.

Quote4) No volcanologists have stated that Yellowstone is likely to erupt this week, this month or this year. In one recent article, a name was attributed to a "senior volcanologist", but that person does not appear to exist, and a geologist with that name assures us that he did not supply any quotes regarding Yellowstone.

He doesn't exist, yet claimed he didn't supply quotes?

As to your question. I guess it depends on the time frame of eruption, though having said that, with the Marxist we have currently serving, the guy that claimed ISIS is a JV team, or pretending only well meaning illegals are invading the country.

I'd say he'd let people die, just so he could give the appearance of caring for the injured.

Now if this were a city and a dirty bomb set to go off in 24 hrs, most normal Presidents would see to it the city be evacuated immediately, but not this administration.

I am not a conspiracy freak, either, and I believe that a lot of what is available at You Tube is bunk. At the same time, I seriously doubt  that the USGS would inform the public and would deny the validity of any reports suggesting a supereruption is imminent, even if they were well-founded.

I believe the best thing that those bringing video cameras can do to help is to document on video any unusually large hydrothermal events, changes in the number and frequency of such events, changes in the landscape, and other anomalies. I think they should nix the editorializing, and upload only the raw facts on the ground. Let people draw their own conclusions and act on them accordingly.

That all we can do.  Look how long they have call for Cal. to drop into the water.   Look at G/W, Seattle should be under water by now.   Life is a gamble just getting out of bed.  I did not know when I was going to come into this world and I don't know when I am going out or how.

The whole thing sounds bored.
