He's talking you Liberals....

QuoteHumans will need to colonise another planet within one hundred years to ensure our survival, according to Professor Stephen Hawking.

The astrophysicist has made a new documentary, Expedition New Earth, as part of the BBC's new science season Tomorrow's World. In it he will claim that time is running out for Earth and if humanity is to survive climate change, asteroid strikes, epidemics and overpopulation we will need to leave our planet and venture further afield.

Other than The Rapture of the Church (I'll be leaving earth), it is a dire warning to ALL LIBERALS - Leave as FAST as you can!!!

Start with San Francisco.  That's right, after we disinfect the streets, burn all the horrible decrepit buildings and worthless pieces of so-called "art" - it'll be free to re-inhabit by decent, honest, America loving Patriots.  Oh... we'll also deport all the illegal aliens, whom ever doesn't flee our American made pickup trucks (with gun racks in the back window) as we roll into town.

Overpopulation???   Seriously - Within 1 mile, where I live, in southern Virginia, we have 2 abandoned houses, and one NEW vacant house.   I'd love it if someone bought the land, fenced it and ran cattle, goats, sheep or pigs - at least MOW it, something to keep the land productive instead of growing over with weeds and scrub.  These plots of land, under production, could feed several dozen people.
Overpopulation is a MYTH.   There is so much untilled, vacant land around here, if someone dropped Steven Hawking off out here, he could scream at the top of his lungs, and the only thing that'd come to see him crying is the Coyotes.

Our Missionary friends in Iceland hear stories of how great the Cod fishing -was- when the water was warmer...

Liberals see doom and gloom.  They are neither happy, or optimistic about America's or the World's future.  Eventually, they will die - except in utter misery - could we expect any less?

The Detroit newspapers constantly remind us Trolls (those living south of The Bridge) that one-third of our entire state (the Upper Peninsula) contains THREE PERCENT of our state's population.

Here's a recent story relating to this.

Don't sweat it, Quiller.   Back in the '70's when I skied Iron Mountain, it was just as poor.  I knew a guy who wanted a certain denomination church so bad, he built it himself - and couldn't find a pastor for it.  He worked in Milwaukee on contract jobs while his family lived in the UP.  You do what you have to do.

We hear the same stuff about Danville & Martinsville, Virginia - some of the highest unemployment in the state.  Governor Terry McCollough doesn't even bother to visit this area, or west of here - there's no money to be made.  Kids are moving away, but New Jersey retirees have discovered they can live like Kings & Queens on a paultry retirement income in an economically depressed area... they've been flooding into the Danville area like a hoard of locusts ... and complaining about the way poor people live, houses, streets, you name it, everything that costs a lot of money and nobody can afford.

Martinsville is 10-15 years behind Danville from the collapse of the furniture, textile & tobacco industries.  Still in that slow decline, it's getting to the point NASCAR has repeatedly tried to dump Martinsville Speedway from their schedule... they saw what happened to Wilkesboro, North Carolina, once a household name for NASCAR - it ended that city's growth overnight.  Instant economic collapse.

Within 1 mile of my house, sit several abandoned houses & businesses.  Each day, driving the area for work, I pass several former businesses, all have closed in the last dozen years.  Some because of changing market forces & market need (trying to hang on to the "old days"), some because of gang activity, and some businesses in terrible locations (bad idea to put a gas station & food mart near, or on the way to a Wally World...).

And dumbest of all, their friends said, "Hey, man, let's open a little Grill over there - you could do all kinds of business, remember how it was..?"   Those open and close often the same year.  That's universal, happens everywhere, I'm sure you've seen it, over and over again.  Some fitness buff opens a fitness or beauty parlor ('cause it's cool), only their friends patronize the place, but drive off the paying customers, with poor service or giving them the cold shoulder.

Dog groomers, Diners, Gas Stations, even the Amish are getting desperate around here.  They moved in from Pennsylvania, opened up a so-called Amish food store, got a $$$ of free media coverage, and now that the thrill has worn off a couple of years later ... I just noticed a Reality sign by their house (store is probably next).  They sold OLD food at HIGH prices.  Would you pay $5.95 per lb for pan roasted Turkey?   Not when every grocery store in the area has fresh or frozen Turkey at .98 per lb.

A friend of ours was looking at an old business to buy, shop and all.  In the middle of Lynchburg, $60k for everything, building, inventory, name... one catch, they had to "employ" the current owner for 10 years and pay his health care costs.  He was so excited, when he called, until I started running a few numbers ... he's pay between at least $5k per month in costs, before he got around to paying himself.  His wife is a nationally known "artist" - trying to buy into that thing would have curtailed her ability to turn a buck.   A co-worker and I walked into the business shortly after we talked, and sure enough, the old guy offered to sell the whole works to us too!  My friend wasn't too happy to realize it wasn't an "exclusive offer" and backed off.   About a year passed, and the owner decided he had enough - GAVE IT to my friend, and moved into elderly care... no strings attached.  Now he's got just taxes and utility costs, the business is slowly expanding, then he went full-blown Internet marketing - and business is BOOMING.  the local business model would have crushed him, the other gives him a chance to learn how to grow a business... Internationally.

That's why I said, don't sweat it - when people in these rural areas understand how they can reach the big markets and keep their costs so low even Wally World can't compete, it'll turn around.  Stay stuck in the past, no vision for the future and go nowhere.  Apple and Dell were started in a garage and apartments.  Opportunities are everywhere, if you open your eyes and use your imagination.

Steven Hawking and the doomsayers haven't ever visited rural & remote areas.  You and I live in them, comfortably too, nothing about wealth, but comfortably quietly content.   Besides... if you advertise your place in Mother Earth Losers as the perfect Prepper hideaway for the "escape Detroit, Chicago, etc" crowd... the right way... some skull-full-of-mush Doomsayer will see it as a bargain & buy it.  The grass is always greener... somewhere else (where the cow paddies are abundant).
