Media hound - Elon Musk, Humans merge with machines.
« on: February 13, 2017, 07:45:56 AM »

"Over time I think we will probably see a closer merger of biological intelligence and digital intelligence," Musk told an audience at the World Government Summit in Dubai, where he also launched Tesla in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Anything to stay in the headlines...  Has his car or rocket company turned a profit yet?  When is someone going to realize this guy is living off of government grants and force him to live like the rest of us in the "Free Market?"   It looks like he's not at all an inventor, but just another marketer who grabbed the Telsa name and SpaceX, from then on, it's about creating this futuristic aura - to keep those investment dollars rollin' in.   I've seen *nothing* that warrants any of the attention this guy gets, well, maybe a car wreck or bankruptcy when his investors cut him off and he has to do business the normal way, EARN IT.

Ok, why the UAE...?   Dubai?   Because that's where the BIG MONEY is.   Helps to be a liberal too!

During his talk, Musk touched upon his fear of "deep AI" which goes beyond driverless cars to what he called "artificial general intelligence". This he described as AI that is "smarter than the smartest human on earth" and called it a "dangerous situation".

Imagine the 'smartest human on earth' (so called), realizing the brilliance of Constitutional Conservatism - liberalism, socialism, communism is WRONG, and sends AI warriors after Musk to *assist* his merger with "lead" - aka "robocop style".  :scared:
Tesla Chairman and Chief Executive Elon Musk has rubbished claims made on Thursday that workers in the car company's California branch had been underpaid, overworked and often suffered preventable injuries.

Jose Moran alleged in a Medium post that "excessive mandatory overtime", frequent injuries and below average hourly pay were hallmarks of the San Francisco Fremont plant in which all of Tesla's cars are manufactured.
management actions are feeding workers' fears about speaking out," Moran said in the Medium post.

"Recently, every worker was required to sign a confidentiality policy that threatens consequences if we exercise our right to speak out about wages and working conditions," he added.
  my emphasis...

Having worked for an Iconic Media Personality - a short time was all it took, you realize quickly the 'honor and privilege of near third-world wages' is to somehow be a really sweet deal... because you work for So-and-So...!?   While every effort goes into keeping up their public image, you can literally teeter on the edge of starvation... which at some point, you become a throwaway - after your talents have been milked to the max, to further enhance the Iconic Media Personality.  "Oh, wow, so-and-so has developed *this* - it's that fantastic, it's called revolutionary!  Unfortunately, while you were slavishly working in silence, your ideas are now in the public realm, and if you continued to develop them, you're viewed as stealing from your former employer - if they're successful.  If it falls apart, you're not there to continue the work - guess who gets the blame for a hair-brain idea.

When the AI machine enhancement to humans begins, the future will undoubtedly be littered with failed attempts - no question the AI was good, it was the human subject which was "defective".   "Had we known Mr. Blank has a preexisting preference for Conservative American Values, we never would have AI enhanced him.  We wanted a Global Citizen, not one of these Patriotic types!"     "Unfortunately, we had no other option but termination of that model when it stood for the American National Anthem."

Honestly though, AI will never merge with irrational thought - Liberals...  :ttoung:

Did you realize, nearly every invention, or innovative idea began as a random thought... "Gee, I wonder if...   What if I tried... "
And a few debilitating injuries too, "Hey guys, hold my beer & watch this!!!"

It's a part of life & living, to dream, experiment, test limits... add AI and what happens to human creativity?   What might sound like a crazy idea in the beginning, can matur into something for everyday use...  something Mr. Tesla & Mr. Edison understood.  It's more than an occasional abstract idea, laying in a field of clover, watching the puffy clouds drift by - the human element is both a idea engine and a filter.

Add AI to enhance productivity & creativity and get wholesale intellectual laziness.
All animals are created equal; Some just take longer to cook.   Survival is keeping an eye on those around you...
