An 11-year-old boy managed to hack into a replica of Florida's election results website in 10 minutes and change names and tallies during a hackers convention, organizers said, stoking concerns about security ahead of nationwide votes.

The boy was the quickest of 35 children, ages 6 to 17, who all eventually hacked into copies of the websites of six swing states during the three-day Def Con security convention over the weekend, the event said on Twitter on Tuesday.

The event was meant to test the strength of U.S. election infrastructure and details of the vulnerabilities would be passed onto the states, it added.

"It would be extremely difficult to replicate these systems since many states utilize unique networks and custom-built databases with new and updated security protocols," the association said.

That kid, that hack job =  rock solid proof the entire system was designed by morons... malevolent morons, it seems.

Here's how voting should work:
1) Each voter who wishes to vote presents an ID card with picture and chip.

2) Voting is on one day and one day only. Period.

3) All voting is done by paper ballot.

4) Any ballot lacking suitable provenance is to be rejected after examination by representatives of both major parties.

5) There will be NO 'projected winner' of any contest announced by any media source... PERIOD.
"It's hard to predict... especially the future."

It looks like our election system, at least Florida's, is a cluster fuck. If kids can hack the system in 10 minutes and do the damage they did, it would be a cake walk for any hacker. I agree that the system needs to be changed, but we have to ensure that our military members overseas do not have the ability to vote in person.

Why is it online?

I circled some dots on a paper. The machine is only there to interpret the dots. No need for it to be online. Solved.

Just need to work on keeping unauthorized people from voting, and just need to keep untrustworthy personnel from operating the machine.

And, need to work on people in making correct voting choices.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.
