I like the idea Using drones in search and rescue efforts.

Agreed. Instruments can pick up body heat at night or under inopportune conditions. Ya can't do that just visually.

These guys are the best trackers for search and rescue.

Best of all, a Bloodhound understands a real man.

they can find a missing person fast than a drone, or infrared, IMO - when it's warm outside, what good is IR?

Recently, some old guy wandered off into the woods, got lost and sat down next to a tree.
48hrs of searching with a multitude of deputies over a wide area, nothing found.
It took 22 minutes from when the Bloodhound got off the truck, took a sniff of his hat or whatever - there he was, disorientated & dehydrated, found alive by the most sensitive nose in the dog world.
All animals are created equal; Some just take longer to cook.   Survival is keeping an eye on those around you...

I know a lot of search and rescue K-9 owners who will Not, under any circumstances send their dogs off in search where there is a chance they won't make it back.
It's one thing to find a missing person, but if the situation is still a hot zone, send in the drones.
