The EMPIRE Energy Project is something that few people know about yet, but I hope to change that in the coming months. We have captured lightning, and the world needs to know. Learn all about it, and then post your feedback here. go to empirena DOT com and learn about the future of energy. We hope you will join our cause and help us develop energy independence for the USA.

Solar your up.    ;D    What do you think.
I just checked it out, yes, it's feasible but, like everything, it has it road blocks.
Bottom line is, nuclear is still the cheapest way to go, that is if Gov got the Hell out of the way.

I like that these guys are thinking out of the box, but think of it like an array of solar panels that could generate enough power to run a city, but only got sun light for 5 seconds a day, that is what lightning does in this process, but they are trying to use it to create hydrogen, if they can somehow buffer the power and slow the process down, it just may work, but that is costly and again, not cost effective when compared to nuclear.

Bottom line, if we can get Gov out of the private energy sector, we would have more energy than we would be able to use generated by nuclear.

I like when people thinking out of the box.   8)

Maybe we can hook them up with AF's perpetual motion solution....

Well glad to see someone is looking at it, but sorry to se that they didnt read carefully. The cost to killawatt for the EMPIRE project is about 2000 times better than Nuclear, and it collects energy 24/7/365. True, lightning happens only sparadicaly, but the charged ions in the atmosphere are there at ALL times. They are more than suffecient to produce viable power plant levels of electricity in several thousands of locations, not every spot on earth, but in more than enough to be viable to almost everyone on the planet. Remember, we dont need lightning, we just need the charged ions, and they are everywhere at all times. Read the infomation again, and think it through, I believe you will find its truly the power of the future.

Markamic, feel free to post links to your site and where we can get up to speed on your technology...

Yes and no Mark, the air is charged at all times, but only certain areas of the Planet hold a charge long enough to be viable.
I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern Ca. I would say that about 5% of the year does the air hold an high enough charge to be usable.
This is the only reason that you will have issues finding backers, the Mid West makes more sense, but even there, the air isn't always charged enough to make this a viable source of energy.

The loss alone through capacitance requires a highly charged atmosphere to be conducive to extraction of ions, which generally collect higher above the ground in the Ionosphere.

But the problem you run into with collecting energy out of the air, is usable voltages, you may get enough to excite an fluorescent bulb, but that is about it, without a highly charged atmosphere, like one ready to give of a charge in the form of a lightning strike, you would never be able to generate enough to charge a AAA battery.

I appreciate the leap you guys are trying to take here, but Viable?

One other point Mark, you really need to turn off that flashing logo, it is not only distracting, but every page has it and it quickly becomes irritating, it actually drove me away.

Viable...YES. That's the difference between old technology and what we have. Our collectors and management circuit does a much better job at gathering the power from the charged ions. We have used this to collect usable power from sea level positions and done a lot more than just excite a simple light bulb. We are talking about continually collecting a similar amount of power as produced by a commercial powerplant 24/7/365 from many places around the USA, and even more in other countries.

Granted, some places will not be viable as continual power, but in those we are still a much improved lightning suppression technology, and that alone is worth a lot by protecting equipment and property. As listed on the site, lightning alley in Florida is a perfect example of where this technology shines the brightest. There are a few dozen places where that quantity of power is available to us because of the tremendous improvement we have made with the collection process. Its not theory, we have proven this continually for over 4 years.

Sorry you don't like the banner...I am sure the graphics guy will be devastated...lol

Well good luck, I mean that, I know you have quite a climb ahead of you, especially now that the Pubs are in charge, so to speak, they will bring some sanity back to our energy problems created by the leftists.
So hopefully the price of energy, and it's production will be easier to deal with.

But as to your banner flashing, I was serious when I said it drove me away, if you could stop it's animation on the other pages, you might keep people on your site longer.
Think of it as a little kid trying to get your attention while you are trying to concentrate.

I wish you guys luck, I have an very old friend doing something along the same lines as you, they are using opposing metals in the form of tuning forks if I'm not mistaken, trying to draw energy from the surround Earth and air..
Maybe you've heard of him, Kirk Thomas?

What about draining the van Allen belts?  Isn't that a free renewable resource?  Not only that, but the radiation from the van Allen belts pose great danger to anybody going up in space.  The ideal means to overcome the gravity well is the space elevator, but the van Allen belts would require excessive shielding for that.  Draining the belts could kill both birds with one stone.  I just don't know how much energy we would get from that...

As much as I love energy exploration, that is one area we need to leave alone, (IMO).
The Van Allen belt is our shield from radiation, without it, life on Earth would look very different. :o :D

Glad to see you posting MFA.
