Title: Cryogenically frozen brains to be transplanted in bodies within 3 years
Post by: Solar on April 28, 2017, 04:36:15 PM
OK, it's 1960, you froze your brain due to an incurable illness at the time, but now heart transplants are standard, so they wake you up, fix your heart, only to discover the country went totally leftist.

People who have had their brains cryogenically frozen could be 'woken up' within three years, a pioneering Italian surgeon has claimed.

Professor Sergio Canavero, Director of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group, is aiming to carry out the first human head transplant within 10 months and then wants to begin trials on brain transplants.

If the procedures are successful, he believes that frozen brains could be thawed and inserted into a donor body.

Hundreds of people who are dying or paralysed have had their bodies or brains cryogenically preserved in the hope that medical science will be able to bring them back to life and cure their conditions.

Although many experts are sceptical that huge organs like the brain can be thawed without damage, Prof Canavero said he believes the first frozen head could soon be resurrected.

Last year, the team announced they had successfully carried out a head transplant on a monkey, and released images from the procedure.

God Yes!!! I sooo love the wisdom that comes with age and the ability to recognize when it's time to check out.
I've never understood the appeal of immortality or living more than 100 years, no thanks, when the eyes, ears, and mind/body are shutting down, it's time...

For a long as I can remember I have only needed 4 hrs. of sleep.   My thinking was that's all I needed.

But after passing the 75 year mark some time back.  I think it's now the aches and pain in my muscle and joints, that get me up and moving so the aches and pain will go away.  Or I have just learned to block it when I get up in the morning over the years.  The sun is my friend.

My old cat is getting up in the years also. (16 years) She like me likes going out on the deck at 5 A.M. and enjoy the sun coming up as it feels so good.

Same here, it's not that I don't need the sleep, its just that I keep waking up, be it talking in my sleep, allergies, or muscle spasms and getting up for a shot of quinine to stop it. 5 hours is about all I get so I function on it. Barely.

I see only two ways to thaw out the brain of a liberal.

1.  Microwave set for "Popcorn" - fits them well.
2.  Blow torch - they're always "flaming" peacerful, law abiding folks...

This is an imperfect science, maybe a few more of them will volunteer to help with the testing...  I'll chip in $5 bucks if they experiment with Liberal politicians!
