I have it on the new laptop I bought about a year ago.  Just renewed it as it seems to work just fine.  :)
I pray, not wish because I have a God not a Genie.

Solar

Why buy, when you can get it for free?
I haven't had one issue since I started using them more than 10 years ago.

E-mail is the source of 90% of malware.

People don't practice good Computer security.

What needs to be updated regularly is Adobe, Java, Windows - set to Automatic update, and your antivirus if its not doing it automatically. If your not getting updates several times a week on your anti-virus library I would be concerned.
It is a good idea to have a second anti-spyware program. No anti-virus / anti-spyware program catches 100% of spyware  or for that matter viruses. However if you keep everything updated and practice good security your ahead.

Most People are unaware that they get Cookies, Flash Cookies and Web Beacons in their e-mail from various sources. Most know they get Cookies from their Browser, but are not aware of what Flash Cookies or Web Beasons are.

People invite trouble when the send out e-mail to more that one person and don't put all the recipients in the BCC Line.

I'm sure everyone has gotten a forwarded  e-mail with 4 - 15 previous recipients e-mail addresses displaed above the title. That's is gold if a hacker snatches it.

They can install Malware on a weakly securied computer to make it act as a spam slave for them.  Or they may get your password.

According to security stats over 35 % of e-mail addresses  use either their complete name or slight variations of it, another No No. There is nothing wrong with inserting one or two character symbols, and a mixture of letters and not using your complete first and particularly your last name.

There is an advantage to using an e-mail program like Thunderbird. All the e-mails are on your computer and your never charged bandwidth by the online E-mail program or your IP provider. For most people that may not be a concern.

Most people use terrible Passwords which are also too short.

A good password should be 15 or 16 characters and contain 4 capitols, 4 lowercase, 4 numbers and 4 symbols. Windows has a weakness for paswords 14 characters or below.

A way to remember a high security password is to construct a sentence that fits you.

Example

I bought $ 7 worth of Chickens & 5 Apples at # 10 Downing St at 9 % off.

The Password looks like this >

Ib$7woC&5A@#1DS@9%o.

Equals a Super Secure unbreakable Password.

Include the period if you want. The above Password is = 20 CHARACTERS
5 Capital letters
4 Numbers
4 three lower case letters
6 upper Character symbols
1 Period

A way to protect your e-mail is to look in the Tools / Options, under security. You should be able to block Cookies by clicking on the Cookies icon. There shoud be an option to "ask me every time"

Set up both the browser and your e-mail program that way.

Now when an e-mail or a website want to place a cookie a popup will appear telling you this e-mail or website wants to place a cookies. You have the option of Allow, Deny or Allow for this session only. Many cookies have an expiration 20 years from now.
If you want to see how many Flash Cookies you have - enter in the Search box - Adobe flash cookies. You will be taken to the Adobe Flash Cookie manager where you can view the Flash Cookies and delete the ones you don't want.

Some of the Flash Cookies you want, but many you don't.

The most likely sources of malware are websites for  Social Networking, Porn, Music download, and some Video.

The strength of our Society is the continuous recognition, respect and acknowledgment of the right of Freedom of Speech and necessity of high social and moral standards as well as loyalty to the absolute implementation of those principles set forth in our US constitution.
