Our fearless, generous, tireless, infinitely-patient leader/host Russ has purchased some new forum software for Right Minds and we'll possibly be transitioning into it over time!! It's sort of a combination of flat / threaded format which is probably perfect for our needs because we all sort of like the conversational flow which threaded structure allows!

I'm so delighted that I discovered this forum here - partly because so many other Cruz fans gather here!! I get a good vibe from all of that energy! I hope that Ted wins the primary and then CUTS THE HEARTS OUT OF WHICHEVER 'CRAT REARS THEIR HIDEOUS HEAD IN THE GENERAL AND HAS IT MOUNTED ON A STICK ON THE PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE PROMENADE. A new power is rising in the world. A righteous, resolute, serious-minded, responsible one with a positive vision and the brains and guts to cut a path through the wilderness to find it, shining on a hill.

Good for Russ, I think he'll be happy with the ease of maintaining the data base over the old system.
The main reason we went with SMF was the way it stores data, we have every post that ever posted to the forum, unlike other old software, where you had to purge data/posts, losing brilliant works in the process.

Who knows, some forum out there may have the early writings of a future President.

Actually, the new software is strictly for backup in case the SHTF with the old stuff due to a host system upgrade or somesuch.  I do not plan to transition to it in the foreseeable future.  I have it active on another site I own so I can tinker with it and achieve some familiarity in case it is ever needed.  It's a good project for rainy days if I just want to hang out in my shop.

I view the "old post" issue differently.  I routinely delete anything over 60 days old.  It's a once a month chore that takes less than five minutes.  I see it as a current events forum, with the old stuff losing its flavor like chewing gum on the bedstead overnight.  Once in a great while, I wish I could recover one of my own old posts, just so I could say, "I told you so!," but not often enough to change my practice.  As we olde dirtbikers say, "Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks."

Aha, I just discovered something amusing about your post verification system.  To the question, "Is Barack Obama a Marxist?," it will not accept the answer "Yes!"  Doesn't like the exclamation point.  I was gonna answer, "Hell Yes!," but I suspected that it wouldn't like that either.

Take care,
Russ Walden

Thanks for the clarification, sieur!
BTW for the CPF verification question try, "F--k Yeah!" or "D*mn Skippy!" or just insert the following image:
