Leftism = negativism and is infecting the conservative movement.

Late-For-Lunch

At Right Minds these days, the software is functioning much better than the relationships between some of our posters. The pro-Trump posters are sort of going militant - stridently denying any flaws or errors on the part of Trump's campaign and engaging in intense vituperation against Senator Cruz and his campaign.

Spirited debate is one thing, but emotion-driven discussions are another entirely.

None of the efforts of the Cruz supporters to rationally discuss political issues with militant Trump supporters (who now seem to define themselves by being anti-Ted Cruz) are working very well. The militant Trump supporters vehemently defend each and every action / reaction of the candidate and his campaign staff while condemning wholesale Ted Cruz and his.

I wish that every single conservative would read JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion. It is a book about the destruction of Westernesse, the haven of good in a mythical world. Though the story is set in a world that never was, the message of the story is timeless. Good is not brought down by external assault but as so often happens in the history of man, their empire is made to collapse from within by people who should rightly be brothers and sisters in cooperation with each other, being manipulated into hatred, mistrust and betrayal of one another, by a common enemy - through guile, deception, misdirection, instigation and by playing on the weakness of character of the good men.

May we escape the fate of Numenor and avoid being lured into making Heaven our enemy, causing us to sink into the sea and be drown in our own egocentric inequity.

Trump and Cruz supporters should rightly be the closest of allies. This cannot happen if one or the other believes that they are not and acts on that belief. Selah.

Although I am a Cruz supporter my guiding motto is conformity to the Buckley Rule. Anyone who does not share this is, I believe, ill advised.

This is the basis for the support for Trump. It hides the total lack of substance Trump brings to the table. It is very similar to how Obama fooled his minions in 2008.

"Where in the human heart the ego is great, the space for God is small." - Ancient Gnostic saying

I had always thought of the conservative political faction as the repository for the thinking-centered demographic of voters - that view has been sorely challenged by the current state of the political configuration of events.

The pursuit of Cruz has taken on a passion which reminds me of something swarming, mindless and not of God.

Late-For-Lunch

Sadly one of our long-time members got personally offended when I and some others defended Cruz and took exception to Trump in the recent issues of social media and mutual attacks on spouses, and announced that she was leaving the forum for good.

I tried to help her to see that no offense was intended from anyone and that we all still loved her - apparently to no avail.  Such is the human heart - people sometimes identify with their beliefs so strongly  that when people disagree with them strongly, they take it as a personal rejection and insult.

Hopefully she will reconsider some day and return. She is a great person with a terrific attitude about most things. Why she overreacted to this whole Cruz/Trump conflict is unknown.

Selah.

It is a common characteristic for Trumpaloons. Emotion overtakes rational thinking.

Please forgive the length, but let me tell you why Kasich is not really a Conservative.

He as governor in the State of Ohio, has allowed the government of the State of Ohio, to violate the due process rights of thousands of Ohio citizens.

Many of whom probably have a tax lien sitting on em, and don't even know it like I had.

Yeah that's right. Kasich's government, filed for and obtained a tax lien against me.

For taxation I didn't owe to start with, as it was on wages I'd never earned to start with.

And they filed it against, a property, I rent and don't even own.

As if that's not bad enough, they went and did this, all without so much as ever even issuing a warrant or summons to come to court.

Now you tell me, since when does conservative government attempt to go after a citizen like that.

For something they're not responsible for to start with. AND all without any due process.

That's why I won't vote for Kasich, ever.

He's a liberal disguising himself as a conservative.

The same is also true of Mr. Trump. He claims that he's a conservative now.

But, when you look at things he has said in this campaign, and in the past. No he's not.

In both the campaign and the past he has taken what is/are a liberal position.

Take his prior statements on abortion.

Saying your all for abortion, is not a conservative point of view or political agenda.

Another example of something that he's said that wasn't conservative.

This crapola about banning all muslims from America, not because their a terrorist or on some watch list. Not because they're some criminal we deported once before already.

Nope, simply because that is their religion.

Such an action is not only severely dangerous to our republic, because while it might be muslims today, it may be Christians tomorrow.

But also, if such an act were taken by our government it would be an as clear cut, as clear cut gets, violation of the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

A true Conservative doesn't threaten to abuse, violate, and fail to uphold our Constitution before even in the office either. So no I won't vote for him either.

So my choice is Clinton, or Cruz. I choose Senator Cruz. And trust me, I'll be holding my nose to cast that vote too.

As while I think he's the candidate that is the more conservative or Constitutionalist of the candidates.

There's things about him I am not so thrilled about too.
