Phoenix Arms, the thorn in my side

I got a Phoenix Arms HP-22 about four years ago.  It was a tempermental little thing, and I had to have it repaired at a gunsmith shortly after getting it.  My husband had tried contacting PA (phoenix arms) and they did not answer the phone, the gun smith had the same issue, and eventually just made the needed part.  I got my gun back, and did not even get to shoot two magazinrs out of it before the slide cracked.  :cursing:  Mr. tried for a few months to get a hold of someone, no luck.  I set my little gun up on the shelf and got kinda ticked whenever it caught my eye.
Fast forward three and a half years.  Out of the blue, I googled the number for PA, I called them and a real person answered!  I asked about the slide, she said that they replace them, I just had to Fedex my broken part in.  I asked what the charge would be, she said there wasn't one.  I was skeptical and hopeful all at once.  Either way, the gun is of no use broken.  I sent the slide in February.  I gave them more than the four weeks they said it would take .  I began calling in May, muliple times a week, for the whole month.  I tried emailing them in early june, I got an auto- response back saying that they would get back to me "promptly" almost two weeks ago.

I have looked online and on sites where people start to complain, people jump in with how great the customer service is at PA.  I have yet to see it.  Buyer beware, if you happen to get a good one, you're lucky, a bad one, you're up a creek without a paddle.

That's too bad, what a headache.
It would appear you're not alone, many say their customer service sucks and will never buy another Phoenix.
What I find interesting, is I have never had to contact any manufacturer of all the weapons I've owned, but it seems many that own this gun have.

You might try using a different phone to contact them, they may have your number in the system and it's set to ignore, I've had that happen.
Try this number if you haven't already.

That wasn't the number I had, but it says it is disconnected, I had been using 909-937-6900.

Try calling other gun smiths, sometimes they have extra parts around, or maybe one will be willing to take it in trade towards a working model.
Too bad, it really looks like a good little piece.

This is why I stay with a tried and trusted source, like Smith&Wesson. Not to say that other makers can't do it, but a company has to have the workers and capital to back-up their product when things go wrong. You get what you pay for.

I agree, I have yet to have one of my name brands give me issues.
Yes, they do cost more, but in an emergency? Give me tried and true.

I did not purchase this one, it was given to me by my fathe whose brother has two of them that he really likes.  He felt safe in the purchase because of that.

From what I've read, it's a great piece, it's those like you that had issues with customer service that seems to be the problem.
One thing I find appealing about it is it's size and weight, which really helps in keeping on target.

You may want to contact the BBB and see if they can help.
