Title: new members
Post by: durtieduck on May 28, 2012, 02:09:18 PM
many new engineers will be joining this site in a short time. we are current members of cr4 digest.    our members have expertise pertaining in all fields of engineering along with others who have knowlege in many other fields. i think we will fit right in with this forum.

Welcome DD, Kramarat seems to have done well finding an intelligent group for this forum.
Personally I'm happy to see this, I too have expertise in many fields, so can appreciate it when someone shares their knowledge in a specific field.

The interesting thing about the field of engineering is that math simply don't lie, so rather than debating an issue, people tend to hammer out a factual answer.

I know you guys must have some good engineer jokes for the jokes forum, right?

Hey durtieduck,

Welcome aboard. I've been having fun bouncing around between here and CR4. Lots of good topics on here that wouldn't fly over there.
Good site!

Whoa, a new place. Hi, all y'all.

Hey Sue. Welcome!!!

I love talking politics, but it'll be fun to get some stuff going on the other topic boards too. I'm still getting used to how exactly to respond properly..................basically, copy what you're responding to, hit quote, paste in response field, and start your post. I think I've got it. It's different, but in some ways, it's better than CR4 with the set up.

Hey Kram....Looks like quite a few CR4-ers followed your trail of bread crumbs. I need to do more exploring around here, and I really hope this verification process for each post disappears soon.

I just highlighted and copied your sentence, hit quote in the upper right hand, pasted your sentence in my response..............and bingo.

Quote, just brings up the response page, and pulls whatever you copied with it. I kind of like it. You don't have to backtrack to see what someone is responding to.

It should, if not let texed know and he will fix it for you.
I also removed your double post.

Also if you wish to quote some one. When your in there post just hit the quote at the top of there post.  If it is more then one person your quoting do as kramarat said.

There is no need to copy anything, just hit the quote tab, and when the page opens, look at where your cursor is, if it is.
If it is past the word [/ quote ], then just type, no need to c&p anything, the program does it all for ya..

I started off doing that, and for some reason I was pulling multiple quotes. Humphrey had to correct something I posted, and said I needed to direct my quotes or something. I still don't know exactly what I did wrong.

I also can't figure out how to post an image.

You should see two quotes only, one at the beginning, and the second at the end, I generally hit enter to make sure the cursor is past the 2nd quote.
If you see more than two, there's an issue.

To post a photo, right click on the image, from the menu, select (copy image location).
Now go to where you want to post it and click this tab from above (https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/Themes/default/images/bbc/img.gif), then do nothing but hold down your control key and hit you V key, that's all, then hit preview.
Sometimes sites won't let you copy a pic, so keep trying till you get it right.
You can get a detailed description in the help tab at the top of the page next to the home tab.
