Title: My experience in returning a product bought online.
Post by: Bronx on October 28, 2019, 12:07:53 PM
Okay I can't get any contractors to my house to do project in a timely fashion. Most reasonable price contractors tell me their 1 to 2 months out. The $12,000 dollars per 100 square foot contractors can be there in a week but I'm not going to spend that kind of money for just a stand alone shower.

So here I am making the wife happy and I'm doing it myself. Well I finished the shower project and no leaks..... and now my wife wants the whole bathroom re-done. So I'm off to the races.

Well she picked out the basins (bathroom sinks) from a website that came highly recommended. One sink came damaged and now I thought this is where the headaches starts in the return process. How much would it cost to return a $50 sink that weighs 22 lb. Should I just buy another and dispose of the damaged sink. I told my wife that's why I wanted to go to a brick and mortar store or at least a big box store just in case we had to return anything.

Well I call the website and they asked me if I can send them a few pictures of the damaged sink. A full picture and a close up picture. I did that and to my surprise they first stated that the sink was indeed damaged and the return will be free and they will be sending me a label to attach to the box and return. Well today they said the damage was not that severe and DO NOT send the sink back and if I can bring it to my local Habitat for Humanity or a Veterans project, or any place like that I think they can use the sink and let them use it for one of their projects.

I was highly impressed with them. I called them up and let them know I have never experienced anything like this and that for now on they have my business no matter how big or small. Oh and for a small bonus they was cheaper then any box store or brick and mortar store by $10 bucks per sink, and their shipping was free.

I know we're not suppose to promote other websites on here but since this has nothing to do political stuff I'm hoping it's okay to put this website up so others can enjoy the same experience I did. If it's not okay...I'm truly sorry and please delete.

The site is Build.com

Here is the damaged sink.

Back when I worked for a friends contracting company, we would often order our fixtures off this website. They are reliable and have good quality goods and services. Glad to see you were able to get that replacement.

Thanks for sharing. I do quite a bit of on line shopping but not the big stuff out of fear of returns. Going to have to give it a try.

When malls die, everything will be controlled by Amazon.

I think you will always have Ace Hardware, Lowes, Home Depot and Bed Bath and Beyond.  I have not had a problem taking something back with any of them.

Amazon will still take over everything. One company monopoly.

You only buy toilets once a while. I'm talking about things you buy more often.
