Political Discussion and Debate / Re: Calm Before The Storm

Obviously, it is the stake through the heart of the Dim party.
The Dim party implodes for good next week.

I have been paying attention to this story this morning and there seems to be some very damaging information in the four page report. Knowing how Washington works I am not going to get too worked up over it until it is released and we can see what is in it. Based on what I have heard some holdovers in the FBI DOJ may be in some deep trouble.

I searched for and found his memorial on findagrave.

This is indeed, real.  He was a good friend of Abraham Lincoln.

Trump should welcome a govt shutdown. Just go on national tv and name all the senators that shut the govt down and say you arent getting  money from the govt because these senators prefer rewarding criminals instead  of you.
I agree.

I see a New Jersey exit tax in Caliofornia's near future.

Wealthy exodus to escape new tax rules worries California Democrats

The Republican-backed federal tax bill flipped the tables on a never-ending question for California politicians: Will high taxes lead the state’s wealthiest residents to flee the Golden State for the comparable tax havens of Florida, Nevada and Texas?

Republicans reliably raise that alarm when Democrats advocate for tax increases, like the 2012 and 2016 ballot initiatives that levied a new income tax on very high-earning residents.

But now, with the federal tax bill cutting off deductions that benefited well-off Californians, the state’s Democrats suddenly are singing the GOP song about a potential millionaire exodus.

California AG: ‘We Will Prosecute’ Employers Who Cooperate with Federal Immigration Officials

snip~
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) says his office “will prosecute” employers who cooperate with federal immigration officials to deport criminal illegal aliens from the United States.
In a press conference on Thursday, the pro-open borders attorney general warned California employers of new state laws that barred businesses from providing information on illegal aliens to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency that would aid in deportations.

I wonder how those new CA would hold up under serious opposition in the courts. Passing laws that forbid abiding with other laws seems awfully weak.

Well, they blinked. They passed a CR.

That was just the House. Still have three GOP senators opposing the CR. Graham is showing his true colors after a few months of a charade. Flake is Flake and Paul is opposing for fiscal reasons. Today will be interesting. I hope McConnell makes democrats vote. Those votes will be remembered in November.

History / Grave Statement

Photographs show an 1890 gravestone with an anti-Democratic epitaph.

The short answer to the standard “Are these real?” question is that the pictures displayed above are indeed real, photographs of a marker at the grave of Nathaniel Grigsby, who died in 1890 and was interred at the Attica Cemetery in Attica, Kansas.
