I spoke about this over a year ago, about the disillusioned youth vote and how they felt betrayed, well that betrayal looks like it found a path of reprisal.

Younger voters, angry with the lack of jobs and a stalled economy that's cut their entertainment budget and forced many to live with mom and dad, are expected to flock to the polls in even greater numbers than 2008 when President Obama's inspirational message of hope and change drew millions to the polls.

While 51 percent of Millennials age 18-29 voted in the 2008 election, 76 percent plan to vote this fall, according to a new poll from the influential group Generation Opportunity, a 50 percent jump.

Yea i kept hearing that on Rush today or something like that. What are you/they hinting at? That if they had, the young people would be predominantly conservative or what?

I think they were trying to raise the spirits in the Obama camp. Letting them know that they be "getting" even more votes from one of their interest groups than they received last time. Or why leave out that all important question?

hmmm. Rush, or wherever I heard this today, seemed to think that the people of the 18-25 generation that will be active, motivated and flocking to the polls will be conservatives. Smart people who realize Obama is not what he promised. But I just hope enough of my generation who supports Obama just wont vote. I keep hearing that from people I talk to. I wear Romney T-shirts and gear around Boston, and stimulate conversation anytime I can. It's fun and I can usually convice people to agree with me by the time its over. so hopefully i can influence a vote or two.

That's what the article was implying, not so much that they will be as conservatives, but that they will be voting for the guy with real business experience.

I notice the crowds at GOP rallies seem a lot younger this year.

Driving around undeniably-liberal Ann Arbor and several other university towns, I'm thunderstruck by how FEW Obama bumper-stickers I see on cars. I can just imagine the discussions going on in their faculty lounges!

I've noticed the dearth of Obama stickers too.  Leading up to 2008, and for the two years following, it was nauseating how many I saw on the NYS Thruway when going to and from my Vaykay home every weekend....Now they are rare occurrences.  They may still be voting for the mistake (this is New Yawk, after all), but they are not waving the flag.

The media is really going to be hard pressed this year trying to find a youth rally, let alone large numbers of people chanting for the messiah.
Seriously, by comparison to 08, the crowds will be considered big by media standards if they can garner 10% of what they did back then, the media will do it's damnedest to inflate the best they can.

It just isn't cool to back a Marxist in a land that believes in consumerism, these kids like nice things and most haven't found a job that pays them well enough to own the latest or coolest gadget, let alone move out of mom and dads basement.
It doesn't take a genius to see that destroying our way of life could impact everyone, these kids had a wake up call early in life, which is also the reason I say it will take an entire generation before the Dims can repair it's image.

I did walk around boston a bit last night with a romney-ryan tee shirt on. I got stared at (brutally stared, not just a normal stare) by like 5 people who seemed shy to start a conversation with me. The obviously liberal OWS-sympathizing, heavily pierced girl serving my mexican food wasn't happy, but her hot, normal friend struck up on convo with me. she voted for obama but is thinking of switching sides.

I gotta say. You really feel like you need a concealed carry walking around boston in a Romney Tee. thats BS. remember how much Obama shit was everywhere in 2008? it was absurd!

Also, I think the local black people (I live near a park) think that basically supporting Romney-Ryan is racist. It absurd. It's like no, you are discriminating against Romney-Ryan, and against people like me.

I don't think they believe that Romney-Ryan is racist, but they are caught in a dilemma. Racial solidarity is almost a religion among blacks, because for too much of our history, if we didn't look out for each other, no one else was going to do it. The downside to that is that the crooks, scoundrels and shysters among us, use that solidarity as a defensive cloak. How often have you seen some crooked black politico pull that solidarity around him/her like a cloak, the minute they get caught in some wrong doing. Often wrong doing, that concerned cheating their fellow blacks. They know the tendency is there, so they use it. Many blacks - myself included - have always felt their is something vaguely wrong with Obama as a "black man". The color is right, but the mindset and cultural norms are all wrong. Take his support of gay rights, that simply doesn't play among the great majority of blacks. And it drives us up a wall when gays start talking about how it's "just like the black Civil Rights struggle". As I said above, many don't think Romney-Ryan are racist, that's a delusion that exists mostly in the heads of white left wingers. However, many still don't "want to let a brother down".  I think what will happen to solve this dilemma, is that many will just sit on their hands. I think they'll show their displeasure with Obama, not by voting against him; but by not voting at all.
