Sci Fi Fan, I do hope you give some credit to the people in this forum for being tolerant and open minded. Try going against the grain in a place like "Democratic Underground" and they will ban you faster than you can say "Hi." In fact, their community rules make it clear that they tolerate no discent in their forum.

Now, I'm not saying that every Republican or Conservative forum is a bastion of freedom. For example, the Hannity Forum is a piece of junk. They will arbitrarily ban you even if you are a Republican for saying the slightest thing about religion and deflating their evangelical egos, but most conservative forums are pretty open minded...so be a little considerate when laughing at people's expense here.

I don't know what democratic underground would do, but one highly liberal board I frequent has a war-monger-right-winger as a high ranking moderator.
