Granted, this arrest took place near the birth of TEA, but it shows just how ignorant libs can be in believing their media.
But it also exposes how we, TEA, have won the war against leftists of all stripes through our commitment to staying on message.

Southhampton cops searched her and found a legally owned rifle that she was transporting from a nearby rifle range. She contends a deputy sheriff arrived on the scene later and said to her, "I bet you are one of those Tea Party people." When Genovese said she's gone to Tea Party rallies, he allegedly said, "You're a real right-winger, aren't you?" and "You are a 'Teabagger'" and then added that she'd be arrested for terrorism to make an example of other "right wingers."

The New York Post also mentioned Genovese "was armed to the teeth with a licensed assault rifle." The description is very misleading since the police only found one rifle in her car, which is legally owned.
Authorities jailed Genovese for four days before she posted $50,000. The court dismissed the charge in November 2009, but Brewington claims she "was subjected to humiliation and was strip-searched" during her four days in prison.
"Ms Genovese was subjected to a level of abuse because they did not share the same political views as she did and saw this as an excuse to deny her even the most basic civil rights," he said.
After she won, Genovese said she wants to start a foundation to help others who were wrongly arrested.

Uh excuse me for asking this question, but if she was wrongly arrested, and IF her arrest was precipitated due to her political views and not any real violation of the law.

Then the arresting officer IS guilty of malicious prosecution, abuse of police powers, false imprisonment, and denial/violation of her first and fourth amendment Constitutional Rights.

Why is this officer not being investigated by the P.D., and why isn't she suing that municipality for violation of her civil rights.

She needs to make an example of THEM.

An example needs to be made, of what happens to those in government who try to use the power of government to infringe upon, violate, interfere with, deny or attempt to deny the God Given Rights of the citizen.

Constitutional governance has to begin at home after all. :)
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html

Looking back in anger...  I remember a whole slew of TEA-slamming stories once the MSM got the official go-ahead from the jarrett-administration to begin the reign of tyranny against us.

It almost reached one anti-TEA 'story' per day, somewhere.  Our declarations were "very frightening" to piglosi.  We were the reason for the giant gavel and grown Dem-males holding hands...

With deathcare signed-into law, the cackler is rapt with glee over the mythical demise of the TEA Movement.

It is often useful to follow the link with the post (or at least read the title of the link...

A Long Island federal jury rewarded Nancy Genovese, 58, a mother of three, $1.12 million in compensatory damages after being arrested in 2009 for attempting to photograph a helicopter at a Air National Guard base in the Hamptons.

Still not enough though.  For any one of these that somebody actually pursues, there are 50 just as egregious that just get ignored / forgotten.

This lady has the right idea, though.  The story says she wants to use some of the money to start a fund, to help people fight back.

But it needs some big backing of people like ACLJ, Heritage Foundation, etc.   I've always thought that that we need to be developing lawyers that go to law school solely for conservative activism / protection.  Maybe one of those organizations could get the ball rolling with scholarships to produce these kinds of lawyers.

God knows the country is dripping with lawyers who do nothing but leftist concerns, issues, and goals.

Agreed! And also note that this story doesn't even come close to getting mainstream national news coverage!

However, if the same thing had happened to someone who was accused of being a Communist or an Islamic Radical...

Katie bar the effeing door! The MSM would be on that like stink on a monkey!

Well, you see the big production they break out for garden variety petty criminals, in Ferguson, NYC, FLA.  Imagine if they had real persecution like this, to sell to the screamers & looters.

Whenever some liberal accuses me of being a "Teabagger", I correct him by pointing out that "Teabaggers" are sodomites while members of the Tea Party are defenders of the Constitution.

I think somewhere in the comments, somebody explained -

Tea Party = us..........Tea Bagger = Anderson Cooper.

These SOB should be thanking us for trying to right a wrong ship. A parade would be nice with "tea bags" falling from the windows as the crowd goes wild. Yes sir i'm a "Tea Partier".

The original charge was for "trespassing" (the article doesn't say where she was trespassing) while taking a photo of a National Guard helicopter that she was planning to use for a Support Our Troops poster!

Please note, Billy, that these were not cops, but sheriff's department deputies! You, know, the ones you claim will protect us from the Government when they are told to comes to take our firearms away!

QuoteShe contends a deputy sheriff arrived on the scene later and said to her, "I bet you are one of those Tea Party people." I'm pretty sure that these kind of sheriff deputies out number the "Oath Keeper" types by at least 2 to one!

And, as the saying goes, with friends like those...

If you think that then I think you are getting your info from the wrong conspiracy theory magazine.

Right now the Govt and Obamao admin have zero credibility among the local cops and less with sheriff Depts a few FBI I know are shaking their heads as well. You should hear some of the things I've been hearing the last month .....

Don't be surprised if you see some sort of mass walk out or "sick out" from Cops nation wide and see how you all like a little dose of complete anarchy for a few days.
