Since  the  time  limit  ran out to modify  my last  post  let  me  point  out  1 thing  about  your  chart. Italy has  been locked down for  quite a few days  now but  notice the  news cases? You can not  lock down a  mild  virus  like corona because  like the  common cold  it  spreads rapidly. Ebola or  rabies  is very easy  to contain because the  normal rule  of thumb  is the  more deadly  a  virus the harder  it  is  to get. Italy  is  proving  my point  quite nicely.
Italy has 9% who have died. What was your point again?

Maybe this is what you were referring to?

With the tens of thousands of spring breakers ignoring the govt mandates, shouldn't we be seeing massive massive outbreaks among not only the students but the areas they visited on break? We have several areas and representative control groups of very close interaction. I've not seen any data reports on this, which is very odd.
Incubation time is two to three weeks. Give it time, kids can be foolish.

Here is some  other  interesting  info. Australia, which gets  lots  of  tourism from China and  is  quite  close to China has  1314 cases, 7 deaths  for  a death rate  of  0.53%, quite flu like. The reason is its summer there just  turned to fall. Warmer weather will knock out the  virus  here. Italy  has about  5500 deaths, germany 94. Germany  has a death rate  of  0.32%

One  further point:

That  map might  be  unfamiliar to many but the  bluer the  color the  more  below  normal temps  have  been. That  map is  up to date and  a few  days  ago Northwest Europe where  germany, england france, ireland, switzerland and so forth  have  even been warmer than that which also correlates quite well to thier  much lower death rates and cases. Sadly, for  Italy  besides thier  population being  10 years  older on avg, and  letting  flights  from china  in, they also have  been suffering  well below  normal temps allowing the  virus  to thrive unlike  NW europe with far  fewer cases and deaths. If  Johns Hopkins had had a flu tracker  in 2017/18 like  it  has a  corona  tracker  now everyone  would  have been jumping  out  of  buildings.

Yes. My point is if we do not see massive increases in both the areas they traveled to and the areas they returned to, we will all know this was a massive over reaction and massive govt over reach

The economic consequences will be massive and we have the right to understand the justification based on hard data. To date us deaths are a fraction of 1 percent relative to the common flu.

There  is absolutely  no question the  "CURE" will be far worse than the disease.

A couple of points. We have a working drug now, second, this bug is 2.5 times more contagious than the common cold.
But here's the real problem, those that do come down with the pneumonia, they must have ventilators, or the death toll rises.
Problem is, we don't have enough, that's why Trump asked Ford, General Motors, Tesla 'To Go Ahead' and Mass Produce Coronavirus Ventilators.

From listening to his stupid  updates. Limiting  gatherings  of  people to 10 was idiotic. From what  i heard from Nick, owner  of the  once  thriving  crab shack he  can be arrested  if  he tried to open up. there  is  NO reason most  people  shouldnt  be  back working  but  when trump praises new york and  california  for  shutting  down, thats a war  on small business. Big  business will come  back, but  millions  have  lost thier  jobs for  good.
So are you refusing to prove what you stated as fact? Last chance, admit you're wrong, or get a 2 week timeout.

Matters not! The base will reelect Trump, even never Trumpers like me, about 30% of the base will not fail this time around.
Add to that, a bloody dead DNC party, whose base bailed on them when they split the vote over Bernie, they've abandoned the party and this so called fence sitter (undecideds) is only a figment of the LSM' imagination.

Here's the thing - If you listen to Health Care professionals that want to shut everything down to save lives  - THEY ARE RIGHT.
But that is their focus.
We must, MUST begin to listen to Economicsts.
If we concede to the best wishes of Health Care professionals, we will have a DEPRESSION.
Our National Debt will be forever unpayable. Unemployment thru the roof.
We need to STOP THE HYSTERIA right now.
We need to simply accept some deaths as the price America must pay to survive.
And yes, I am totally prepared to risk the lives of myself and mine to prevent disaster.

The real issue is, we just don't know. China continues to lie, WHO covered for China in the early days, and the WHO is run by the very same group pushing Global Warming, the UN.
Personally, I'm not concerned in the least, this will all pass soon after it peaks, but I'm of the belief that we are responsible for ourselves only and those we come in contact with!
I don't care what the govt does, but we're in agreement, shutting down industry does nothing but throw gas on the fire that could easily be extinguished.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump issued new guidelines on Monday to help fight the coronavirus, including a recommendation that people avoid social gatherings of more than 10 people, discretionary travel, and going to bars, restaurants and food courts.

Just thought I'd throw this out to piss off the LSM. They hate the term Chinese Bug, So Let's start calling this cure, the Trump cure.

Chinese Pandemic, Trump Drug To Fight It :

A Florida man diagnosed with coronavirus claims he was saved from certain death by an anti-malarial drug touted as a possible treatment by President Trump.

Rio Giardinieri, 52, told Los Angeles' Fox 11 that he struggled with horrendous back pain, headaches, cough and fatigue for five days after catching COVID-19, possibly at a conference in New York.

Doctors at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in South Florida diagnosed him with the coronavirus and pneumonia and put him on oxygen in the ICU, he told the outlet.

After more than a week, doctors told him there was nothing more they could do and, on Friday evening, Giardinieri said goodbye to his wife and three children.

"I was at the point where I was barely able to speak and breathing was very challenging," Giardinieri said. "I really thought my end was there."

Based on the death rates compared to the normal flu (less than 1% so far), and the economic devastation the actions will have, I'd call this the hail mary flu...the last ditch effort before the 2020 elections to blame something on trump.

Heck, 90% of the media articles are political in nature...always some blame for the corona virus levied at trump...

I understand that...

but my point stands...miami, cancun, south padre island, panama city beach...we know the top destinations and we know how many people were there...

whether these students should have or should not have gone is irrelevant...they went....so we have a control group for the independent variable to be tested...all those who stayed in, businesses closed etc...and hundreds of thousands who ignored mandates - both the students and all the hotels and businesses that hosted them while on break should show massive, massive outbreaks...at least 15-20x the non breakers population....at least...
