Fuel prices had been frozen for six years, but the government said it   could no longer afford to subsidize them, especially since much is   smuggled across the border to neighboring countries.

Morales is a lefty like Chavez and in order to buy votes they subsidize various things. In this case gas and diesel.

Of course the more socialist the country the lousier its economic performance and with the price of oil rising Morales doesn't have the money to continue to subsidize those prices. So they spike upward going from whatever unreasonable, subsidized price they were at to something more closely approaching reality. In one day.

I don't think the Dem's are living in reality in this day and age.  They keep giving my money away.  With o b even the Dem's have no rights.   

The only thing involving oblunder that wouldn't depress me is if they deport his ugly butt back to kenya. :D
