Will Someone Explain Why?

We are paying out taxes for people to by the Nissan Leaf electric car?
Seriously, why are we all paying for something that is going to cost us more in higher deficits, and one truly obscure hidden tax, higher electric bill.

You ask why will I pay for their electricity? Well, the Marxists won't let us expand the grid with actually proven methods of producing electricity, so there will be less power to go around, in turn raising your electricity bill.

Sounds like a stretch, well it's not, the grid is already at 95% of max, ad to that a 100 thousand electric cars, and you'll be paying the difference when we are forced to buy power at emergency level pricing to avoid blackouts,

QuoteThe Nissan Leaf will carry a price tag of $32,500, but some California residents could drive one for just about $17,000 -- roughly the cost of a typical gas-powered compact sedan.

That low, low price is thanks to incentives from the federal government, which offers a $7,500 tax credit to buyers of plug-in cars; the state of California, which offers a $5,000 rebate; and local governments in California's San Joaquin Valley, which offer another $3,000 in rebates.

And for those to whom the Leaf doesn't sound "manly" enough...there is the

Chevy Volt

Chevy Volt Pricing Announced
Well, after $1 billion dollars of investment and keeping us waiting for 1,297 days, final Chevy Volt pricing details were revealed today. Suffice it to say the Volt is a little bit expensive for many of those looking to buy a hybrid. The 2011 Chevy Volt price comes in at right around $41,000 which will be offset by $7,500 due to a new tax credit GM managed to rally out of DC. At $33,500 the new Volt is coming out at a higher price point than many of the leading competitors including the new Nissan Leaf (Base MSRP $32,780). It is also a tad bit more expensive than other entry level models available including the Toyota Prius (22,800), Nissan Altima Hybrid (Base MSRP $26,780) and Honda Insight (Base MSRP $19,800)..

So how can you get one? Well right now the cars are only available in CA, NY, MI, CT, TX, NJ and of course DC.

Now theres a perspective Ive never even thought of and I bet not many have...the electric grid being overwhelmed...wow thats huge...
Obama is paying off his envirowhackos that all buy electric cars and use one square of toilet paper so they can remain cool in the handjob cult

There ya go, Husien IS paying off old debts, because only a moron would think adding more strain to an electric grid already overwhelmed, all because they won't let us ease the strain on it by building more power plants.

This windmill and solar bullshit they claim is helping, is not one bit, I don't care what they claim, it's a lie, all based on perfect conditions.

Yep, this is nothing but a scam to bilk the taxpayer, all the while furthering a Marxist agenda.

Yep, your electric bill will go up, but not for all the normal reasons, like new power lines or natural disaster, but because you are paying good money to further a Marxist agenda, and never knew it.

This is probably one of the biggest scams of the Century.

We have wind turbines within 25 miles of us.  My understanding there only good for around 25-year then the turbines need to be replaced.  When we drive past them less the half are working. (moving) They say they will pay for themselves in about 2 to 3 years.  If so why do they need money from the tax payers?

Thats the thing Walks, they don't work.
The power grid is based on demand, not the whim of the environment, utilities pretty much ignore them whae taking into consideration expansion or need.
They simply can't predict when they will be producing peak energy, unlike a nuke reactor, that can be turned up or down depending on need.

But they're pretty, aren't they? ::) ;D

Basically we are being forced to invest in green technology.

I get questioned by  those who are fascinated in how we live on solar.  They want to throw a couple of panels up somewhere on their roof to offset their electric bill.  I have learned to explain that unless you are willing to go all out (off the grid) don't bother.  I also try to give the realities of living this way.  My "city girl" daughters would never survive this life.   :) :) :)

Exactly Bert, the left have been trying to destroy our ability to generate all the power we need.
Bottom line is that they hate what they refer to as unbridled Capitalism, but what normal people call freedom.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that they nearly got away with it through Husein.

Yeah, a car like that is pretty much useless in our neck of the woods, they would bottom out on just your average water bar in the road.
Up here we have so much rain and snow runoff, that every road has a large berm cut in it every 300 ft to divert water.
Of course this is on gravel roads, but most every road up here is gravel.
