A question.  Is the shoulder that's been repaired the shoulder of the hand that she uses the most?  That's just a curiosity question.

A word of advice, if I may.  Watch the pain pills.  My oldest son has had two hip surgeries and one shoulder surgery.  On the first surgery he cheated somewhat on the pain pills, taking them too close together.  He said it was not fun when he started getting serious about getting off of them.  After that surgery, he was very careful about not "cheating" on the time between the pills again.

Thankfully no its her left shoulder and shes right handed. She finally gave in an had the surgery because she had started to take pain pills daily...not good.
My wife was a cosmotologist for many years she owned a few salons over the years and were guessing the constant repetition wore out the shoulder...who know though

My son who had to have all the surgeries spent many years as a meat cutter in a packing plant and then as a butcher (meat cutter) in a grocery store.  I know it didn't help his shoulder.  He's doing great with that now, though.

I've got degenerative bone disease of the hip and lumbar.  I asked the doc what caused it.  She said being an athlete.  After picking myself up after rolling on the floor laughing out loud, I told her, "Not me.  I'm much too uncoordinated, but I have always walked a lot".  She said "Bingo", or the medical terminology for that.  I asked what the heck I can do to help it, and she said, "Keep walking a lot."  That was the right answer because I really enjoy it.  Point for me was that using it a lot possibly caused it, now using it a lot will help it.  I think I stopped asking any more questions after that.

Glad to hear the surgery was successful, Zip.  Best of luck to the Missus and you.  Take good care of her.  You know, that whole "in sickness and in health" and "for better or for worse" thing.   ;D
