It's interesting to see some of the replies to this OP -- "I would not vote for a Democrat, no matter what."  I see such statements as a reflection of just how polarized our politics have become. I'm not saying that we should consider voting D next time, just that the polarization is so stark, so complete.

A good example is the way Rand Paul recently turned on the MSM and demanded that they go and get the DNC's take on abortion before they interrogate him. (He gained big-time points with me in doing that, by the way.) Rand and most Pubs have varying views on the subject of abortion (for example), but the DNC does not. As far as the Democrat Party is concerned, it's abortion on demand, for any reason, at any time, just as DWS tweeted shortly after she was challenged by Paul. It is quite literally a plank in the party's platform.

The polarization has come about, not because of right-leaning "wingnuts," but because the Democrat party has completely abandoned the center. John F. Kennedy, considered a strong liberal in his time, would have to run as a Republican today. He would have no home in the Democrat party. Before him, Ike was courted by both parties to run for president -- that's how close the parties were in those days.

Nowadays, the Democrat party is the party of insanity, of mindless rage and baiting of the opposition -- race-baiting, sex-baiting, gender-baiting, class-baiting, and on and on. It is the party of division and destruction. It is the party that burned Ferguson, MO and executed two cops in NYC. It is the party that presents Al Sharpton, legendary liar, race hustler, and tax cheat, on MSNBC every night, as some sort of authority on... something or other. It is the party that offers up Loretta Lynch, a proven black racist, as a substitute for AG Eric Holder, another proven black racist, both of whom will serve at the pleasure of the Kenyan, another proven black racist.

It appears to me that there is good reason in these times to say "I would vote for anyone but a goddamn Democrat." As for me, I would rather vote for my cat.

Funny I should bring up polarization. Here's an article on PJ Media making exactly the same case. Please take a look at the stunning graphics there.

The third graph was the most telling to me.

As long as the blue and red were still somewhat together, the blue was dominate.  The red appeared to always be smaller.

THAT explains why the colors finally separated.  The reds were never winning anything of consequences.

So, the democrats have always insisted on nominating the political process.  Once the republicans began to stand their ground, everything fell apart and there was polarization.

I have known this all along.  Congress is deemed dysfunctional because the the conservatives have had their fill of being railroaded.

Now the RINOs are trying to restore the lopsided arrangement.

I'm going to assume you meant "dominating" instead of "nominating."

If I knew how to send this viral, I would.

I am still stuck on that twerp who invaded the Ted Cruz post on Disqus. Man, if that is what Disqus is all about, they can have it. Congratulations to CPF members who refused to put words in Senator Cruz's mouth, Senator Cruz, who is more than capable of speaking for himself.

As threatened, I am going ahead investigating the question, "Are Ted Cruz's conservative views turning off the 18-35 year old voters?"  First, that is an absurd proposition, but equally absurd is the Pew manner of coming to the conclusion that Millennials advocate for gay marriage. Yes, Millennials are polling liberal, but there is  more to it than that. More on this later.

Now that the "new" Ms. Bruce Jenner has come out as a Republican he can expect his future to become more difficult.  The gays are most irate at any in their own sexually twisted community that support conservatives.

You mention the twerp in the disqus thread.... yes he is a twerp.... but the worst thing about disqus is the way it tends to fill your email box.  In the past I have stopped using it because of the volume of emails.  I have only joined ours here because i want to support the outreach into the heathen community....   :woot:

Wow, I, too, am a Newbie and have to admit I am somewhat perplexed by the tone of some of the established posters on here toward another Newbie and his simple question: who would you not vote for? I am not convinced his question and subsequent comments really justify the level of animosity some have expressed.

Besides, Norseman, one possible candidate yet undeclared I did not see in your list is Lady Lindsey, who is definitely one person I could not stomach; nor am I overly fond of Bush, Christie, or Kasich. The rest of the field may have its individual shortcomings, but I suppose I could learn to live with each just so long as they kept their word, which is not something the current Republican leadership appears inclined to do.

Dang it!  I miss one day and it seems like there is a rush to misjudge here.  This is more than likely the best forum for conservatives going forward.  If you and other would be posters would take the time to read a few threads back of this one, you'd see what i mean.

The object of this forum is not hard to understand.  The conservative party has been overrun by folks who only claim to be conservative.  In truth, there are alot of rinos out there who only confuse issues and usually are bent on left leaning policies, at least that's who they vote for and keep the left agenda going.  This forum endeavors to educate people who might be missing some of the actions of undesirable government members.  We have some members here who really do their homework and keep a watchful eye on politically charged subjects.    Topics discussed are researched before being put up for discussion, meaning that careful attention is given to the reliability of sources before posting and useful links given to go along with the topics being presented.   It just isn't getting any better than this, as far as forums are concerned.   I don't know anyone personally that posts here but I feel like we have an interest in common and that makes them familiar to me.  It is like very personal to me when anyone disses this forum because I was a member of another forum for 5 years that really sucked.

Give us some time before you jump on the bandwagon of trying to discredit what I and others (many others) have come to value as one place we can go and get the skinny on issues that we hold in highest regard.

In truth, there's only two on that list of that I would even vote for.

Cruz
Walker
In that order.

I think you nailed it KB.  Our main members do their research, I know because I see it every day and have discussions on a regular bases.  There are times I hear something on the news (I commute a lot each day and listen to various newstalk).  I share the obscure stories with Solar and he does the research.  Although a lot of times he is already ahead of me.   Toy

Thank you Key.
The one thing that unites us as Conservatives, is a shared set of values, something beyond the grasp of the common lib.
Not saying Robwyn is a lib by any means, just new and has to get to know what this forum is all about.
Which would be hard for anyone, considering the bull shit that goes on in forums all over the web, and as you pointed out, makes us unique, in that we all share the True Conservative value and principal system.

Fascinating in this day and age that something so common, as an unspoken agreement on culture, has now become so foreign in the country that perfected it.
And sadly, so recently. The latest generation has no idea as to what I'm talking about.

The value  system they've been brainwashed to believe, is that our culture, the one America became the greatest nation in history under, is now somehow evil in denying rights to any group that demands special rights under feigned oppression.
Had they been taught the Constitution, this would not even be an issue, instead what they were taught is PC, tolerance for the absurd.

People claim the WWII generation were the greatest geberation in history, to which I say Bull Shit!!!!
It was their generation that allowed Communists to sneak into our culture and destroy it from within.
They were the guardians at the gate. By the time our generation was old enough to assert change, the Marxists were already entrenched. Thank you for trying Joe McCarthy, it was a valiant effort, had it not been for the rino of your day.

Like Reagan said. It only takes one generation to lose our freedoms. So you Millennials better wake the Hell up.
We definitely have our work cut out for us.
