NOW!!! he talks about jobs.  He should have been do that for the last 2 years, not just giving our money away.

Fresh from a Hawaii vacation, Obama told reporters he expects Republicans initially to "play to their base."

"But I'm pretty confident that they're going to recognize that our job is to govern and make sure that we are delivering jobs for the American people," he added. "My hope is that John Boehner and (Senate GOP leader) Mitch McConnell will realize that there will be plenty of time to campaign for 2012 in 2012."

What the Kenyan doesn't -- and likely won't ever -- understand is that the one and only thing government can do to "create jobs" is get out of the friggin' way. LESS regulation, LOWER taxes, FEWER rules and laws, SMALLER government, LOWER spending. It really is that simple, but I don't think he will ever get it.

What do you expect him to do? Slit his wrists?

He took a hammering in the mid-terms and even acknowledged it. As a result he threw his support to a re-enactment of the Bush tax cuts but tried to hedge his bets a trifle by playing the class warfare card. When that wasn't going to fly he threw in the towel and the Bush tax cuts, without any left wing "improvements", passed.

His first two years he had the luxury of a Dem majority in the House and Senate and could indulge his lefty fantasies. That's gone and two years isn't all that long when you've got a presidential race to win.

He'll try to cut some expenditures and that's worrying because the usual place Dems cut is the military which, as a percentage of the budget, isn't very big. But he'll be anxiously checking the direction of the wind and if he has to, he'll tack even farther right cutting some favored lefty programs. As Obama's proven repeatedly  there are no sacred cows when it comes to him getting what he wants and he wants a second term.

I certainly wouldn't "expect" him to do that! I do, however, have a wish list that I keep to myself... But every time I think about such a thing, three of the ugliest words imaginable pop into my head -- "President Joe Biden."  :o

You're absolutely right, the man holds nothing sacred when it comes to his own political ambitions. FDR made it four terms; I wouldn't be the least surprised to see a push by this administration for repeal of the 22nd Amendment, though after the November 2010 spanking he got, passage of such a measure is not an option.

The thing we have to guard so militantly against is this administrative rulemaking crap that is going on now with things like EPA carbon rulings and FCC's "net neutrality" regulations and HHS regulations re-constructing the previously rejected "death panel" structure. We're already in deep doo-doo. Two more years of THAT shit, and we'll be in REAL trouble!

Well there is a bright side too as of today we don't have to worry about the 3rd person in line :)
Thank GOD we never got close to President Peelosi

I don't think that anyone should trust the kenyen for doing anything except go underground with his agendas and that is where things will get ugly. I have a feeling that the gun issues will be coming back soon also. This could also be a smoke screen to hide something else.
